Ya please do!@@##

--- Update ---

I hope that the Gringotts ride is going to be like Indiana Jones because if they make it too fast then spending money on visuals inside the ride would be pointless.

Yep. I think something to take up the time slack is to debate why they would make an announcement of anything when there is no announcement of an announcement coming to begin with?

I cannot think of a good reason other than they don't want to make a huge deal of it. On the other hand, they have this huge celebration thingy to what end? Sell Blu Ray? More likely it is the first of an annual 'star wars' kind of event. Announcing anything this weekend sounds like a such long shot.

We've been talking about the mega attraction for awhile. The rumor is it's supposed to be based on the Gringott's coaster concept.

Yeah I know, but I read earlier in the topic that a variety of ride ideas were being tossed around! Sorry for making a mistake, you make them too. This board is turning into another version of the DIS boards. I think I'll stop my posting here for a while now. Too much going on making me look stupid when all I did was make a mistake.

Didn't mean anything by it, sorry to offend. Just was confused and wondering if you were hinting at something else. Wasn't trying to "make you look stupid." No reason to layoff the boards. If you think that was bad, you should have seen the lashing I took a few pages ago for not thinking the Hogwarts Express was a worthwhile attraction. Cheer up, continue on. Speculation continues...

So... as I truly believed... no announcement of anything new. Like many of you I kinda hoped to be surprised but it just wouldn't make sense.

Therefore I must ask... what tier of info have we received? Is Disneyhead's and JungleSkip's info 1st tier... Universal Creative or 5th tier, a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a (you guessed it) friend. My info is 3rd - 5th tier (except for one fringe element) and even they have clammed up. I cannot imagine first or second tier news as that would be asking for trouble and possible termination. Sorry for turning this into Agatha Christie, but I really do enjoy an enigmatic mystery. You?

Well, if the fifth tier is clamming up, that would imply that they have important and factual info that they can't pass along. Which means, no matter who's spilling facts, something big just went down and everybody, except us, seems to be in on it. That being said, I too would be interested in finding out the "tier". I'm surprised that your contact is "5th tier". You've always been so fancy

'Tier' is a relative and vague term hmmm? There are 'in the biz' sources and 'out of the biz' sources. Example, the person that made the little broomsticks models of the witches hat umbrella table etc., I would consider 5th tier. I would also consider the head of Environmental Control at Universal City Management to be 5th tier. 1-3 tier might be in the UC building yet on the other hand, they might not have to be.

Regarding theme park development, the later on in the game you are the more interesting tier 4-10 becomes and 1-3 becomes irrelevant and boring.

All my info is second hand, I'll admit that. I get it from the "Lee" group. My friend is good friends with Lee, and has sources in the industry. I know who his Disney sources are. I don't know who his Uni sources are, but he says they're credible, and I don't have any reason to doubt him.

That being said, neither he nor I really expected an announcement this past weekend. I just thought it was a little fishy with the media coverage.

Mercy! And I thought my whispering to two tall grey birds sporting red hats was over the top. You make me feel sane and stable.

I think he was referring to the actual conference, which started yesterday, I believe.

^ Nothing going on, it was mostly coaster and flat ride manufacturers talking about current projects, new offers, and displays. Nothing really going on so to say on the floor. The real magic happens behind the scenes in the manufacturers private rooms. Rides like Manta, Kraken, Sheikra, Gwazi, Revenge of the Mummy, Harry Potter and so on were all partly or fully inked at IAAPA. Whether it be the full ride or just special effects within certain attractions many things are going on. Contracts are being signed, bidding proposals, and so on. Of course we never get to see the good stuff.
