I was quoting Dumbledore. That's something he said in the books and in fact in the FJ queue line. It was more a Potter reference joke than anything else.

Check the above video link for proof that UC (Universal Creative) has no plans as of yet for expansion, and they, like myself, believe that the current layout, attractions, and diversity is perfect. Like BriMan said, just fix up LC, don't get rid of it.

BTW it happened again with the misquoting...

I think Briman was talking about changing LC into Potter, as he is one of the people who has said it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when... rotfl...

You've got to realize that Universal Creative doesn't make executive decisions. They don't get to say the bottom line of whether an attraction stays or goes. Because trust me mantaguy, a theme park is run on MUCH more than creativity (even though I think we'd all love to believe that they run on the creativity alone xD)...

Mitchiez said:
Yes, you are true. But that doesn't mean that the theme parks don't think about what they have and what makes their park so popular. Perhaps, it's because of the Potter buzz, and it's the hottest thing in Orlando right now. But that doesn't mean they will give their other lands little attention of what they've provided their theme park with since they've had it, just to make more money. They are smart businesses, and if they weren't then they would not be successful and popular. They aren't always thinking about what their guests will be purchasing during their trip, but what makes the experience more enjoyable for them to become a returning guest.

I think your misunderstanding what we're trying to say here. IoA is the theme park, not Potter. We understand that, and we love that IoA is the park xD. What we're saying is, once Potter dies down, it would be stupid for Universal to not get rid of it's weakest link and add to Potter, which will fuel crowds again. I think this would be the final (and only) expansion of Potter, but I do think it will happen. But in the meantime (as it is YEARS away, trust me), Universal will continue to upkeep (and possibly update) it's other islands... That's the real deal IMO...

Forbidden Journey can handle near and up to 2,000 riders an hour...its a great ride system.

Giftshops do not move people as much.

I don't know how I am getting the point across to you that they will do nothing. Special events, shows, holidays and such bring in more people. A good loyal fanbase tha spend tons of money. Imagine a hard ticketed event that becomes tradition for THOUSANDS upon thousands of potter fans for many weekend nights a year. They spend way more money than the average day guest who is not a big Harry Potter fan. I don't think anyone saying an expansion is impossible, but saying it will happen is a bit too presumptious to call as well.

Investment vs earnings. People are going to come to see Potter for a long time since its so popular worldwide and will take awhile for that initial hype to die down completely. Even if they do decide to building a new attraction anytime soon would be a waste.

Also, Vyrus I respect your opinion but anyone that would need to twist words around to prove a point, may not be making a point worth proving.

Again. Never say never or impossible, but being realistic...not likely.

well to me, i think uni should add potter expansion while the gettins good. its when potter dies down that adding the expansion would be an overkill in a lot more peoples eyes because theyre tired of it now. might as well add it while potter is still on everyones mind.

Harry Potter is the most succesful franchise and property since Star Wars both in books and films. I don't think it will be leaving anyone's minds soon.

And we never said it would. As said, this would be YEARS down the line. But it is more than likely that it WILL happen...

Personally, I think a healthy prediction for the Potter die-off would really help Universal in this case. That way they get going right before it gets old and people are like "Been there, done that"...

Well, when I say expansion I mean actually adding more space and things to do i.e. shops, restaurants, a couple attractions. So to me what you're suggesting (special holiday events, shows) is as close as possible to doing nothing.

Yes, people will come either way, but more people would come were the park to be expanded. Not only that but they would likely spend more.

Do you mean Ginny? Personally, I would love to see The Burrow, and all these Diagon Alley plans just sound too much like Hogsmeade to me.

I'm thinking more of a magical London (perhaps Kings Cross and the Ministry along with small interactive "Muggle World" areas) in LC and a possible Forbidden Forest Attraction/Hogwarts update (a classroom, Great Hall, the rest of the houses lol)...

As of right now the people who have that much interest in Potter are going to come no matter what. This new area being there is the draw right now. Adding more too soon would be redundant. It would be nice if businesses worked the way you are saying, but they often don't. Competition drives business more than self acheivement does.

And once again, we've said numerous times that it won't be happening right now. It's years away... But I'm going to say it again - not expanding Potter would be a stupid mistake in terms of profit for UO's future. Not saying it's going to happen within a year or two.

Five-ten would be a better choice. (if it does indeed happen) Yet, you still speak with certainy that it will. That is presuming more than what we know.

And you have numerously stated with certainty that it will not. I have said it's my opinion. I've also said I think UO would be stupid not to do it. But I have strayed from saying it will definitely happen because no one can tell the future.

And I would say that if and when it does happen (and it more than likely will), it will happen when crowds die down (and in ten years the contract wears out - if an expansion happened earlier, they might be able to renew it sooner)...

I'm not really arguing when an expansion would happen (only that it would likely be 3 or more years away) just that there will be one, if we know anything about Universal.

No, I actually haven't. I have said not likely many times, but I have stated many times that is not impossible. Nothing ever is.

Its all pointless to argue what we don't know. I concede.

Sorry, that part of the comment wasn't specifically directed at you, but a few others have said it's not going to happen lol...

It's not, however, pointless to speculate, and a well rounded debate about the whole thing can help us all open our minds to different possibilities a little further (sorry, feeling philosophical today xD)... But we're both using the same argument, just twisting it to suit our opinions I think. Whatever happens, it's in the hands of UO...

I am not offended but I am confused on how something in bold saying you under a quoted post from me could infer anything but ...referring to my posting.

xD "You" meaning "you guys" lol... Sorry, I could have made my post more specific, and even if you weren't offended I apologize rotfl...

Back to the topic, anyone else got speculation on what could go in an expansion?

Something else that must be done in an expansion is: get Alan Rickman to come in and record a few lines so that Severus Snape can be in the Potions classroom. Seriously it is almost sacrilege that you walk by the Potions room and hear some random teacher shouting at students. I want Snape.

Ironic, considering my sister is just finishing off that book xD. She's gotten past Fred's death last time I checked :(

I agree though, Alan Rickman really should be the teacher shouting (although I did think the teacher sounded an awful lot like Umbridge, which made me think it was good xD)...
