Wow I look away for 5 minutes and this thread blows up.

Splatter, when it comes to twisting words, I'm simply following what you said. If theme parks wanted people on rides as little as possible, they wouldn't try to make them better and have people stand in line to ride them over and over and over again. The ride bring people in, the merchandise is what people buy as a rememberence.

Also WW NEEDS more shops, we can barely fit into the ones they have right now, let alone Ollivanders.

Something else that must be done in an expansion is: get Alan Rickman to come in and record a few lines so that Severus Snape can be in the Potions classroom. Seriously it is almost sacrilege that you walk by the Potions room and hear some random teacher shouting at students. I want Snape.

Rickman has stated that he does not want to be remembered, or preserved in time, as being associated with only the Potter series. Therefore he wanted nothing to do with having himself be any part of the WW. He'd never do it.

One line in one theme park isn't going to make everyone forget about every other movie he's done!

Exactly FJ brings people in and all the merch (much of which can be improved, plastic Gryffindor swords, I'm looking at you) makes the money.

The reason for the small shops is the simple fact that they did not have much room to work with. Take a look at Google Earth. Hogsmeade is butted right up against DC and the lake.

And you have numerously stated with certainty that it will not. I have said it's my opinion. I've also said I think UO would be stupid not to do it. But I have strayed from saying it will definitely happen because no one can tell the future.

And I would say that if and when it does happen (and it more than likely will), it will happen when crowds die down (and in ten years the contract wears out - if an expansion happened earlier, they might be able to renew it sooner)...

Actually I remember you saying, "Mark my words" a Potter expansion will happen.

In addition, in the posted video one of the men (sorry I don't remember which) says he though during planning that what they would build was perfect because anything else would take away from the total immersion. It's amazing that you have this perfect little recreation of a section of the Potter universe. It doesn't matter, and the people in charge said so themselves, if it's a decent transition, because you know you're only traveling 10 feet. They created the best experience possible, and they don't want to mess it up.

I agree that there are improvements that could be made. But you can say that about anything. I have to agree with Splatter that special events are the way to go. His Star Tours example is perfect.

Well he already did now didn't he. I'm sure that Uni approached him with a proposal for an appearance. He doesn't even appear in the final scene in FJ where nearly everybody else is there.

That may be true, but the fact remains that he appears nowhere in the WW and he said what I said he said. I was dissapointed too when the news came out during construction of the WW. I would have loved to have Snape appear. But that's the way the cookie crumbles.

And manta, let me ask you this - if they could expand the show building and make a purely walk through section of the castle, do you think they would? Such as including the Great Hall, and the rest of the houses? This is purely an opinion/dream thought xD... I think it's unlikely but it would be cool if something like that happened...

To me, The icon of Harry's world is Hogwarts. The World did a wonderful job of bringing it to life. However I, and I am sure many others, expected more from the centerpiece of JKR's universe. In no way am I bashing FJ; this has nothing to do with the ride. I just dislike the railings throughout the corridors, and the incorrect layout. If there was room, alas, there is not (unless of course Uni has been hiding a big secret), then I believe it would be the most epic walkthrough attraction ever. Uni could do so much with Hogwarts. The boundaries are nonexistant. I of course would most look forward to the Ravenclaw Commonroom. :thumbs:

Such a shame lol... If the opportunity arose, it would be really cool IMO... The Great Hall would be neat (possibly with a ghost effect every so often, via the same technology for the trio and Dumbledore)...

i think it would be cool if they did a walkthrough of hogwarts. is there and room passed the gift shop of FJ? You can enter there, and obviously the areas wont be 'in' the castle, but you get the picture

Beind FotH? No there is not, it is a service road, but there might be space inside the building. Only Uni knows that.

With the final movie being released in mid-2011, I wouldn't expect a Phase II to open any later than two years from now, and even then it's a stretch. To stay relevant (this is relative; franchises die fast in the theme park industry), I would say Phase II would need to open about a year from now, meaning we would see an announcement very, very soon.

Yea, if this ever happens, it won't for a couple years. I think it will definitely occur eventually to maintain interest and spice things up.

I agree with you 100%! I don't see an expansion to the WWOHP happening anytime soon. Perhaps a few years down the road...
