But if Universal tells guests (ones who don't figure it out) that Harry Potter is in Both parks, why would guests not go to both parks initially? When harry Potter came to IOA majority of people went to IOA and not UNI. But when people find out the experience will be at both parks, I'm quite sure guests will initially go to both, meaning they will get the two park pass before they even get through the gates.

Only thing I could possibly think is a guests not wanting to experience both potter lands, and decide to change their mind.

It's always better to be safe than sorry! There will be many guests who might just buy the 1 - Park ticket in the beginning and if they feel the pressure to actually want to get on the train, they have an option. For Universal, it's a very smart move and could be worth more than you think. Also take into account that not everyone knows a lot about whats going on like we do here on the boards, especially guests from out of the country who may be confused at the main gate.

Remember, this attraction will be here for a long, long time! Eventually in the far away future, this won't be advertised all over the place.

You think every guest that buys a ticket just to Universal will know that there's another world of Harry Potter in IOA? You underestimate the stupidity of most guests that walk into a theme park. Most people will just want to see "Harry Potter World" and either go straight into IOA or USF.

Most people will see the train and want to buy a ticket then and there.

I guess I'm thinking too analytical about it. I've got to tone it down haha:lol:

I have to remember that people aren't aware like we are. I know it won't be advertised everywhere, Idk, if anything it's a swindle move by UNI:sneaky:

I'll understand it more as the time comes.:meditate:

To be fair, Universal did market it that way.

I think they'll make it for 2-park tickets only but allow single parkers to pay for a ride and/or upgrade. Since there will be train stations it might be fun to play up the theme and have a few ticket options available.

You can guarantee there will be a place near or in both stations where you can upgrade your single into a park hopper ticket. However I'm curious to see how they end up doing the ticketing for different ticket holders.

On a side note as a train nerd myself, I'd think some intricate, larger (say boarding pass sized) tickets would be a cool souvenir. Recording your visit; date, time, pic all looking like a big train ticket.

I agree with all your points here.

I struggle with whether the HE will/should be for everyone or just for those with 2-park tickets. People are always complaining about everything, and guest satisfaction will shape how Universal does things, so I see how they could figure out a way to have 1-park ticket people go back and forth, but I would lean more towards making it only for 2-park tickets. This would make operations more straight forward and smoother. Everyone goes in, everyone gets out, another full group of people can get on, so on and so forth. Otherwise you would have some people stay seated and then we got a seating issue, which means hold ups and disorganization.

We know about the ticket booths, right? So that's another (not definite, but) strong indication that the HE will only be for 2-park tickets. Now, I think they will only offer to upgrade the ticket from 1 to 2-park or to an Annual Pass. I don't think there will be just the option of riding the HE, for the same operations and efficiency reasons I mentioned above.

I would love a souvenir HE Ticket! Maybe they can make some to commemorate the opening of Phase II, the same way they had special tickets to commemorate the opening of Phase I (even though I didn't think those were that nice, a HE ticket would be NICE). Though, even if they just sell it, it would be awesome too. I'd buy one in a second, and maybe even buy several to gift to my friends who are big HP fans like myself.

Like said before, 3 different lines, leading into the attraction,

line 1. Two Park Pass
line 2. Single Park Pass
line 3. Machine or ticket booth to upgrade to 2 park pass

Once on the train there will be seperate train cars for single or two park pass, once they get to the other station, they either disembark or just stay on for the ride back.

That's an angle I hadn't thought of: Having different train cars for different ticket types... Though this would probably lower efficiency and increase wait times, as opposed to having only 2-park people all going in and then all getting off, and repeat... this option would be a win-win.

Hmmm gonna have to chime in on this later, and sorry Vyrus this is incorrect.

This HE ticket thing is such a :bang:

Think logical, the 1 - Park ticket will NOT be eliminated!

Above everything, I would bet my head on this. Not everyone wants to come for Potter. Not everyone wants to do two parks in one day. Also, 1-park and 2-park tickets have always existed and there's a reason: There's different markets for different people, and limiting the options would eliminate a lot of business for Universal. Not to mention, 1-park tickets are more popular for people going on several days, which is ultimately what Universal wants: people going for more days, spending more money.

Some people who are aware of both Potter parks might still choose to visit each park on a separate day.

The tix booths will be there for those who change their mind, and also for those who were just clueless coming in and decide on the spot once they learn about the other Potter attraction.

Most of you have pointed out the exact reasons why I think the 1 park ticket is going to not only die at Universal but die in Orlando.

Some talking points.
-Universal and Islands of Adventure might be separate theme parks however they're going to be billing an overall Harry Potter experience together truly binding the parks.

-Why would they have separate cars and entrances when that could greatly influence the wait for the train, which they want to keep at a minimum?

-If they already sell mostly 2 park tickets why not atleast quit advertising them and make them only be sold upon request?

-They also could edge their self completely out of a 1 park ticket by lowering the 2 park ticket to closer to $100. Which is already seems like they're doing. It is a $35 difference for the 1 day and 2.

-Do you really think Universal wants to add turnstyles to London and Hogsmeade?

-If they do add turnstyles they have to theme said turnstyles to HP, and hire people to work them, and pay for the costumes, etc.

-Do you think JK Rowling will allow Universal to only let the train be rode by guest with tickets?

-This is VERY different than the monorail, which is not technically an attraction, the monorail drops you off outside the gates, hence them not asking for tickets. This would drop you off inside another theme park.

To me it honestly makes the most sense to atleast phase out the 1 day 1 park ticket, and you better believe that if Universal eliminates it that Disney will follow. They could have a 2 park Epcot/Mk, 2 park DAK/DHS, 2 park mix and match, and a straight park hopper.
