Maybe they kept the kitchen area there, but there have been a few interviews that they brought in all new equipment to handle the new menu.

I do recall these interviews. Staying up all night, watching the news the day of the opening with the reporters drinking butterbeer, and envying the people walking in. But I just looked at the menu from Enchanted Oak.... and it's basically the same. Of course, the burgers, soft drinks, and sides have been removed... but the chicken, ribs, and roasted corn platters, are all there. Though, it really doesn't make a difference, it being the Three Broomsticks, is enough to keep people in line.

As for the current layout, I'm almost positive that JK Rowling would not approve a Diagon Alley right in front of Hogsmeade. Completely, unlikely and is not geographically correct. And a London area, just seems a little pointless, because they do want to create something that is in the movies and books, so guests will recognize it. They did use a few of Diagon Alley shops for Hogsmeade, so basically if you don't have the snow, or the architect the shop fronts look direct from Diagon Alley. I don't see what else, with current way The Wizarding World of Harry Potter there is nothing that would be acceptable to replace the arabian area of LC. And if one of the biggest Harry Potter fans out there... (raises hand) can't think of something that would fit, they I'd like to see Universal pull something out of their, no longer blue, sky.

Wow, I've never seen so many people arguing against getting more of a great thing.

Potter will be expanded. Anyone who thinks otherwise is seriously pulling the wool over their own eyes.

It is very arguable. It's much more than just, "Potter will be expanded." There is nothing acceptable to expand to... All the merchandise, food, drinks, places are where they are now, and that's how they have it to be. Be realistic, and think in terms of Theme Parks, that just because of a land's popularity doesn't mean they will just expand it. The crowds will die down, and WWoHP will have it's place in IOA just like all the other lands.

Dude...I have it on very good authority that this is happening. I'm not saying "Potter will be expanded" just to poke the coals.

And I'm being completely realistic. People are clamoring for more. They want more Potter, and dang it, Universal is going to give it to them.

They have plenty IMO. It's crowded and small, because it's all the rage right now. Plenty of people want more of everything. I do honestly see minor improvements in HP. Minor additions, and additive merchandise, and of course planned events. What do your good authorities have in mind to do with Potter? Like I said, it's much more than just claiming "we're expanding this", because there's nothing to expand to within the field of requirements.

Guess what? JK Rowling is not in it for the money. She's in it for seeing her creation come to life in the best way possible. And guess what else? She can pull the plug and just flat out say no if Uni makes a mistake that will jeopardize the authenticity of the park. I don't know how I can put this any clearer, but Rowling and the park designers all think the way it is now is perfect. Therefore it will not drastically change.

No, but they've said it in interviews right after the park opened.

What has Universal done to give JK any doubt?
Do you understand the difference between one persons passion and the success of a business?
-If you said anything other than nothing on number one I'm just speechless.
-If you said yes to number two I beg to differ judging by your previous post, if you said no then don't worry it will come as you grow up, get a job, have bills, and realize that instead of knowing everything you actually knew nothing. Its a business whether you accept it or not, im sorry thats just the way it is.

Jo isn't gonna say "oh, the park is amazing, I have complete faith in you, do whatever you want" she will look over EVERY PLAN and fix it so its to her liking. Remember, if Jo says no, nothing happens. It doesn't matter what Uni has done. And she is not in it for business or money. SHE IS A BILLIONAIRE!!!! She donated ALL THE MONEY from Quidditch through the ages, fantastic
beasts, and Beedle the Bar to CHARITY. She could care less about the money made from the park, what she cares about is truth to the story and a good park, worthy of her books. So it doesn't matter what Uni decides to do, unless Jo approves, nothings gonna happen. And if she does approve, that means it's really good and I will look forward to it.

I don't know whats worse people complaining about expanding quite possibly the single greatest themepark attraction ever or people complaining about the FLE revision and how the coaster wont go crazy fast so now it wont be fun. At least I still have the Cheetah Hunt thread.

I'm not complaining. I'm saying that NOTHING IS GUARANTEED. Personally, I think its perfect, but if it does expand, it means that Jo,(who isn't only in it for the money BTW), approved it and hopefully the same people would work on it, probably making it great. As for FLE, well, thats for another thread.

Like I've said, three billion times... stop assuming that just because Universal is a business, they're going to 1st. Have to figure out a new way to make something that will be geographically correct, and be acceptable to JK Rowling, who is their leading person here... and 2nd. Have to close everything down, demolish a whole section of their park, and make a huge mess.

I suggest that people should stop being stubborn and making automatic assumptions that Universal is just going to expand, because it's so popular now. It will die down, and it will stay how it is, and THAT is just how it's gonna be. Look at your ACTUAL facts, and try to be a little more realistic. This back and forth battle is tiring.

From Screamscape:

???? - Wizarding World Expansion - Development Phase - (1/29/11) According to one rumor, Universal is looking into having the expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter finished by 2013… which is confidently the same time that Disney should be done with their Fantasyland expansion down the road. (I love it when they play nasty…)
As for the expansion, the plans are still being worked on, but the general idea is to take over the rest of Lost Continent, though at the same time they do not want to disturb the Mythos restaurant. (Just my 2 cents… but just place the new gateway to the Wizarding World just beyond the entrance of Mythos to avoid the clash.) The obvious and early idea here right now is to re-create a Diagon Alley environment… full of more theme appropriate shops to sell merchandise of course. An action show of some kind is being tossed around to replace Sinbad, and one possible storyline could involve the TriWizard Tournament. As for what may become of Poseidon’s Fury… the jury is still out, and many ideas are said to be on the table, however one possible idea under consideration would be an indoor steel coaster ride themed to Gringotts Wizarding Bank vaults seen in the first film. In case you’ve forgotten, check out the video embedded below.

The designers were bound to say it was perfect in press statements after it opened, it would hardly be great marketing if they said, "It's good, but it could be better/bigger". As long as JK gives the go ahead I don't think Universal will have to think too hard about whether to expand.
No-one can definitely say they're not going to expand or expand, unless you have inside information and know for definite what Universal has planned or what ideas they're throwing around.

I think once DH Part 2 comes out we may see something about the Gringotts coaster as that would be perfect advertising for it in the movie and vice versa.

a lot of the people who say theyre probably wont be an expansion because JK is really hard to impress, you have to remember they already impressed her greatly which means she is likely to let them do it again. they brought her fantasy world to life and she couldnt ask for more. whats to say they cant get do it again. uni has many amazing people working for them who could figure something out.

and harry potter is much more than a success, it was a revolution in theme parks. they brought technology and creativity never before seen. it was unique and is in most peoples opinions the best theme park area ever. in Uni's eyes, they have harry, a huge money making area that many people love and brought in huge crowds and then they have an old area, that many people dont entirly enjoy, and could be made better. so why not take what they know is working, and bring it to the area that isnt working, and have 2 areas that work....

I'm not saying that the kitchen isn't out of shot but I certainly don't see a kitchen in that shot...

Potter will expand and I'm with BriMan about the expansion. It'll prob be the Arabic part of Lost Continent. LC is already a shell of it's former self but I think they want to keep Mythos.

On another note, the hostility needs to stop and the hostility towards STAFF members needs to stop even more. Discuss, debate but don't get hostile.

This should end the discussion about the stupid kitchen:
