It seems to me, that Uni is trying to get out in front of the leaks, worried what might be leaking next. I am not convinced this was in the long term marketing plans originally. I am also not sure if this is what I told you (4-6 weeks ago) that which was approved, but I assume it is. Has the hi-res version shown up on their site yet?

High res is on the media site.

I'm taking a look at it, and I think a lot of artistic liberties were taken with it, to be honest. I'm not expecting a 1:1 correlation between it and the finished product.

It seems odd to think they are releasing this info to cover up leaks. Besides concept art, what else is there to know? I know there are a lot of specifics for this area we don't know but the cat was out of the bag 3-4 years ago.

This was surprising. I thought for sure they would wait for D23 to deflate anything Disney might come up with. I also thought they would wait a little longer to announce 2014 just not to risk people cancelling there this year plans. But I guess they think TF will keep people coming this year. Or maybe they hit a target number of booked rooms this summer. Just an odd time especially since they still haven't mentioned Simpsons!!!

Agreed, they just announced the grand opening date of Transformers not even a week ago so why announce this now and not after TF opens? It's not much but UO must have wanted to get the concept art out before someone else did.

Finally...
I think the timing of the announcement was probably a result of us (as previously mentioned, preventing concept art leaks) and how soon this is coming out.
Interesting concept art, I have to agree that there were probably a few liberties taken with it. I can (semi-realistically) seeing a much more toned down version of the dragon AA being possible. And I do believe the triple decker purple bus in the lower portion of the image is the Knight Bus. Should make a neat photo opportunity.

Really shocked with how this came out. When I got the text at work, it took me by surprise.

Nice concept art, obviously we won't get all of that, but nice concept art with a ton of detail.

I'm wondering...

• Will there be a Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (can't make one out in the new artwork)
• Will Olivanders have the same "experience" as the Hogsmeade Olivanders
• Will the Leaky Cauldron be another counter service place

Now I see the Weasleys' shop near the bottom of the artwork. It's the prominent storefront facing away from us and jutting out into Diagon Alley. You can just make out the arm holding a top hat.

So hopefully now that they are not trying to keep this construction area a "secret" anymore & confirmed what it it is & there is nothing to hide, maybe now theyll calm down on telling people they cant take pictures of the construction site. Perhaps now theyll actually embrace it, as thats just more promotion for them by word of mouth, er, I mean, word of picture.

Cried at the sight of the concept art. Cried even more when I realized I'll be living in Orlando when it opens.
