It isn't as much of an announcement as it is a confirmation of what's going there.... They didn't say any details of attractions/shops/etc

Nor did they do that when they announced Phase I. It will come in time.

Wasn't expecting to hear about this today, that's for sure. Im not complaining in the least. Do you think all the heat they get with all these web sites trying to get construction pictures and spreading the rumors about 2.0 played a part in announcing it now?

Oh I know I'm just saying it may not seem like much... I believe a previous poster said it was a "limp" announcement.... That's cuz it is. All it i, is saying what IP is going there... Basically what everyone on these boards already knew. It doesn't go into detail. The concept art is nice tho. I'm hoping like the express in hogsmeade, we get the the knight bus as a photo op

I'm not shocked because it's not THE announcement. But it's still odd to pick a random Wednesday morning in May. This is sort of the middle announcement. We already knew it was coming, this is just a vague confirmation. I wonder how long we will wait for the good stuff

That, and there's also a rumor I saw that JK forced universals hand on this...or delayed an original announcement... Don't know how much stock to put into this rumor tho

It's not for us. Announcements are never for us. Well, except for Transformers.

Surprised that they made the announcement by facebook but that's the fastest way to spread the word about it these days. Hopefully they'll have a announcement video or an actual press conference in the near future.

It's starting to look like phase one, the facades will start to go up soon, ect. Now is a good time for them to announce.

It seems to me, that Uni is trying to get out in front of the leaks, worried what might be leaking next. I am not convinced this was in the long term marketing plans originally. I am also not sure if this is what I told you (4-6 weeks ago) that which was approved, but I assume it is. Has the hi-res version shown up on their site yet?
