The cart has been around for at least a year.

Yeah, been there a while. Purchased ice cream from the cart about a year and a half ago. Strawberry and peanut butter, yum.

What is the name of that little tea shop in Hogsmeade that is all covered in lace and cherubs that the kids went on dates (in the books)? I am merely wondering what could be shuffled around in the future. I remember that the scene was very charming to the imagination when reading. I am not sure if it would be popular in the park.

So Gringotts and Hogwarts Express are the only rides confirmed and there is a possible walk-through paired with a shop? Is there any possible of a flat ride or any other ride?

I do remember seeing last time I was there in August, if not in January.

WOW ok these shots are fantastic! Does anyone else think that perhaps the stationary carriage will appear in front of the actual train to make it look, from the outside, like the real deal?

Jeez, the train is the actual train man, not a facade. That's been mentioned here like a million times.

can't tell for sure if this is a misunderstanding; I know there is going to be a train, but will they dress the outside of the train cars to mimic the hogwarts express? or will the stations actually have an overlay for the same effect? Supposedly they are trying to hide the actual track from regular street view in the parks, am I correct? Would that mean they are more likely to have carriage car overlays in the station, so the passengers think that is what the "actual" train looks like?

The whole thing will appear authentic from the outside. I had conjectured that perhaps they might pull a facade thing 8-10 months ago, but I have since "seen things" labeled "CONFIDENTIAL" (which I guess means I was the only one who was supposed to see them ). The interesting thing that has not been discussed, and I will be somewhat vague here, is that it appears that the entire HE will be supported and guided in the center (monorail style), and will not touch any left and right rails. There will perhaps be rails, but just for empty station decor.

Perhaps someone else can chime in lest I am mistaken.

I'm kinda bummed that it looks like we'll be able to see/hear Dragon Challenge on the Hogsmeade Station platform as it appears to be open air above the train. Hope idiot riders don't throw things at the train

thanks teebin for the clarification. the only other thing I was wondering about was the locomotive; is it going to be attached to the train, so that if you see it leaving the station one way, it appears backwards? or will there be a fake locomotive in the station that the train stops right next to?

The engine will be attached to three coaches. All four will travel forwards to one station, and backwards to the original station. This will be done in such a way that you can see the engine in one station (going forward I assume?) but you will not be able to see the engine in the other station, as it will be out of sight in the tunnel.

I know this is silly to worry about but I hope Hogwarts Express isn't a short ride. It seems really close in distance wise to Diagon Alley. I say that because it's such a big deal and I don't want to be let down in anyway. I hope it's at least 10 minutes when you get on. Like maybe there can be some neat elements before the actual train starts moving.

10 minutes is pretty long.. I wouldn't expect it to be quite that lengthy, although I would love for it too. Anything over 5 minutes to me is a plus.

I think it's been said that it's 3-4 minutes in length? 10 minutes would mean ATROCIOUS wait times. It's not realistic whatsoever.

^ Correct, once we had the number of passengers per train, we quickly figured out that the throughput needed to be 2500 per hour per train. The whole experience of getting on and off will be right around 5 minutes, 3 of which would be the ride itself.

As for the actual length of the ride, the whole experience will be an illusion of traveling a far greater distance as you will not be able to see outside the train.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, I've skimmed over a fair few hundred of this topics pages but haven't seen anything come up. At night will the onride screen/windows show darkened sky or anything of the sort? Or will all the effects be for daytime travelling? Be quite disoritentating depending on how good the windows are, to see bright London/Scotland then come off the ride into darkness.
