Uni wouldn't shut down FJ for a day unless they had to, let alone the time it would take to add new scenes.

Well, I absolutely adore Forbidden Journey, don't get me wrong. It would have to change somewhat if what was said still holds any truth: it must change something for Deathly Hallows. What I'm saying is that the entire ride experience can have a much more fluid storyline. Music is needed in most parts of the ride, especially when you're flying with Harry. It would add to the feeling. Also, fog is needed in a much more drastic manner. Alright, let me open my list of what FJ can have done to make it a better ride experience (I should say more perfect, because right now it's perfect, but there's always room for added perfection!)

1. Music must be added to many scenes. I have a list of what songs can be played at what segments, and after some light editing, they definitely accentuate the ride experience.

2. The floo powder sections must be redone. Going through the floo network is defined as a highly dizzying experience, but obviously we can't have that. What can be done, however, is to add much more green 'fire', and have real set pieces that spin in varying levels to add the feeling of a very light dizziness, especially if there is more green 'fire'.

3. Hermione in the Forbidden Forest. She is the brightest witch of her age, yes, but there is no apparating within Hogwarts, so she couldn't have gotten there that quickly. We can, however, be guided by Firenze, Harry's centaur friend, who is naturally in the Forbidden Forast, and who can help us in getting to the Quidditch pitch.

4. The Forbidden Forest needs more fog, more lighting, and absolutely no 'lightning', hahaha.

5. The Whomping Willow needs a larger backdrop and more lighting (not lightning). I suspect that we can deduce that it doesn't notice us until we are right next to one of it's branches, hence it trying to whomp us out of there for good!

6. The last dementor scene can be greatly aided by blasting freezing air when the dementor gets close. Now, I like the face effect, but if a sort of stretching-face effect can be placed, it would work out better. Also, Harry's patronus charm is pretty small. I want a brilliant blue light to blast away multiple dementors.

7. The falling rocks scene is just unnecessary. In all that time, we could be happily flying over Hogsmeade and then arrive back at Hogwarts after that big breather. Did those rocks just suddenly decide to fall on us? Uncool.

Well, that's what I've got for helping the whole fluidity of the ride. The new set pieces (which are few: just a couple spinning fireplaces, a dozen more fog machines, a couple more 'fog-blasters', and some new lighting rigs) would only take a month to order and receive, and a month to install, and the new video sequences would just be remade by the same company that made them in that same time. Combine that with just a few new ride motions, and we're looking at another month, so we're at three; four for public testing and tweaking. In the meantime, the outer facade is being worked upon to install the new rocks and towers which were ordered to be done by a company (obviously other than Nassal...), people can still view the queue as much as they want, some beautiful new roped queue guiders are installed, and the ride reopens exhibiting new ride sequences with more magic.

Now, DC can also be worked upon, but it can be closed after the 'redone' FJ reopens in order to have no less than at least 2 rides running at once.

Guys, I over-think things. This would require more funds, and I'm more than happy with FJ how it is right now. I'm just really imaginative, haha.

yeah i see what you mean. theres nothing wrong with thinking up stuff. fj is far from perfect and one day, something will pass it. for now though, it is absolutly great. the chances of them redoing it would be very very small but we can only dream ^_^.

Well, I disagree that it's far from perfect (:P), but yes, we can dream for our ideas to come true.

Or I can just go to Universal Creative's offices and drop off a well-done and elaborate portfolio suspiciously... ;)

harry potter is definetly not perfect. perfect means there is nothing wrong thus not needing anything added to make it better. its a amazing ride would be a more appropriate word. and good luck with the portfolio

FJ will possibly NEVER be out done since Uni holds the contract for exclusive use of the Kuka arm, Disney can't touch it, and only has it at Epcot because Raytheon paid for them, not Disney.

As far as the updates. I personally don't think you are in any one specific spot anywhere in the ride to notice so many details. Granted you have ridden it 200+ times already, but for people that will be riding for the first few times they won't notice so many deficencies.

Jesus Bale, don't I know that, haha. I'm always trying to keep myself in the position of a new rider. I already have a notebook filled with ideas, haha, so it's just a long creative process for me, I'm just posting what I think can possibly happen. This is all just rumors save the fact that there will be an expansion, right? ;)

Oh, and, lol, I never said it could be outdone. I think I'm one of the first to say that it can't, haha!

yes it can. there will one day be something better than a kuka arm that they will use to make a ride. they dont even need to come out with some new, technology to beat harry. they just have to use a little imagination to put some stuff together and it will appear as though its something new. there will always be new technology to come out and be used in theme parks. saying it will never be out done is saying that harry is the end to how far rides can go, and no matter what nothing will be better than it.

In the world currently FJ is the top dark ride, it took over for Spiderman which has been the top dark ride. It took 10 years for something to top it and it was by its own company.

Soooo I don't know what else could possibly beat a ride with this scope, this interaction, and gets you as up close to the sets as any ride EVER has in history.

Now when it comes to expansion, it has to be elements in the area, not necissarily the ride. They purposely made the ride VOID of ol' Voldy since in the last book he is killed, of course, and its only mentioned once in the queue line by Dumbledore. Its meant to hold up as is for the whole duration of the books.

But to expand on the last book, I think at first they will simply start selling the Hallows charm, as I'm surprised they don't have it just yet. Along with that they need Dobby plush dolls. Maybe even the locket, along with the other Horcruxes once they are revealed.

yes i agree, harr potter dominated spiderman, but that doesnt mean that something, cant out do harry. its definetly not impossible. hard, yes, but in 20 years, it can be done. harry potter to me is just the first step to a new era of rides. apparently to you, its the last.

as for the expansion, i think that all they mainly need now is more shops because the small ones they have now are just waaay to crowded. a new ride would also have to go though but the main focus would definetly be going to the shopping area

Just saying, but my idea for a new attraction on the previous page would allow for possibly two new small stores, haha. They just can't expand the shops. It wouldn't be authentic.

@violaplayer: they could just make a expansion that was of london and that way they could add a lot more shops and have a bus ride simulator. the expansion doesnt have to be all that grand, just spread people out a little more.

Vyrus Vyrus Vyrus, That is arguable. I would disagree with you except I haven't had the luck to ride every dark ride in the world let alone the USA. :P

However, I could disagree with you based on all of the top dark rides in Orlando. But that is just my opinion and one cannot argue opinion hmm?

I will give you that it is probably one of the greatest new ride technologies out there and has yet to realize its full potential. I would also give you that they made it work with so little opening downtime that it boggles the theme park mind.

I'm sorry, but they are just not going to change FJ in any significant way. Every person who rides it and is not a memebr of this forum thinks it's perfect, so nothing needs to be done to improve it in their eyes. Of course we know no ride is ever perfect, but expansions to rides just don't happen. DC however is barely classifyable as a theme parks ride. Frankly it sucks. A lot could be done to improve that discrace to the WW.

As for your ideas, v!olaplayer, I do like them and their creativity, but the layout just wouldn't work. I can't see HP taking over just part of the the Arabian section.

rotfl, that IS the Knight Bus xD And it isn't used in the theme park currently, it's in storage. It was used to get the stars on the night of the Grand Opening of the WWoHP (the one they only had private viewers)... It was an actual vehicle (although I believe it's really only meant for show, so :shrugs: ... Although I don't doubt they could pull off a Knight Bus, it's a transportation system for stranded witches or wizards. So muggles wouldn't really need it (we were allowed in Hogwarts as muggles, the Knight Bus is solely for witches/wizards. But other locations are open to possibility, because Hogwarts has already been "revealed to us")...

EDIT: Forget my first post, that IS the Knight Bus, but it's not the one they used for the park - it's Scholastic's book tour bus :/ lol...
