When Forbidden Journey opened many people, on many websites, said "Forbidden Journey is kind of comparable to Spiderman and The Simpsons."

Obviously they aren't the same ride systems, and they are different. I do agree that they do have some parallels besides just having screens. Physical sets overlapping with screened sets, physically moving from scene to scene, use of elements to increase story, etc.

Obviously those parallels show up between multiple attractions. Point being, all rides have some similarities.

Also, where did we get on the notion that a Gringott's coaster would be similar to Mummy? Even if it goes backwards I'm sure it'll be VERY different from other attractions in the park. Starting with the fact that I doubt Premier will manufacture it.

The thing with a potential Gringott's being similar to ROTM is near irrelevant unless you're strictly talking about the coaster enthusiast community. Potter fans certainly won't care (they haven't cared at all since the idea of a potential WW in IOA came about), and the general public won't care simply because it's something new and exciting that has a nice name.

All I can say is that I'm 100% sure the name of the gift shop at the end of the Gringott's coaster will be called "The Vault"

I heard a little rumor from a VERY legitimate source, universal is toying with the idea of a "boutique hotel" experience for a PREMIUM price......

To me, this suggests the "Leaky Cauldron"... It would just make sense IMO...

What kind of "premium" are we talking here? Like Disneyland Hotel themed suite premium (several thousand dollars)?

I'm thinking more of a club 33 premium long waiting lists and thousands of dollars

Dude, Club 33 costs $10,000 and is usually around a 15 year waiting period.

Who wouldn't? Its far fetched but from a financial standpoint and with access to the employee lot behind it, its not totally out of the question. I mean 2500-3K per night x lets just say 10 rooms. Just a form of extreme luxury that could (very unlikely) but could happen.

$2500 a night
Average of 5 rooms used per night (just a guess)
$12,500 x 365 nights a year and thats just over 4.5 million dollars in revenue.

Again I know thats very very unlikely but you can understand where I am coming from.

~$2,000 a night sounds about right for something like this. But the $10,000 Club 33 rumor is "juuuuust a bit outside!"

hey, there are tens of thousands of proposals tossed out there. that is how they come up with such thorough solutions in the end. not sure how you scratch up this stuff jj!

on a similar note, I forget. what came first, the announcement of Jaws closing or the idea of WW spreading to USF and a train ride between the two? without one you can't have the other. we need a family tree of stated rumors and actual events.

No secrets here for a while. I have started scanning back and it is interesting where it leads. I cannot understand why some can break info as if it is fluff and 'others' are under such a thumb of secrecy. I am so vexed.

All 3 rumors came at the same time.

The closure of Jaws and Potter to USF both came from the same source. I'm not sure if he also mentioned the train, but someone did.

Being bored last night I messed around with Photobucket to see what could fit in the Amity area. I used Forbidden Journeys Show Building. I also used Hogsmead with the assumption that Diagon Alley could be built to the same scale (they'd have to enlarge it much bigger then the movies depect). I kept most of the amity buildings as well as the original pathway as these would represent where the "Muggle" buildings in London would be placed to Hide Diagon alley behind them. The main enterance to Diagon Alley would be located on the south end of the area (there would be another "Muggle" building where you see the Hogwarts Express) with another entrance being placed at the north end near the Fear Factor stage. Although theres only one entrance to Diagon Alley in the books/movies it would be a crowded nightmare to only have 1 way in and 1 way out. Obviously the show building could be larger or smaller and shapped better to fit the land. But it goes to show there is quite a bit of room to work with.
