Remind me to never argue with Tbad's search abilities nor the person that created that post link. I will only say that I am shocked if that is the actual name. Wasn't what I was...

Has anyone else read this stuff published earlier today? It's very peculiar what they propose..... :inquisitive:

Wizarding World Expansion: Poseidon’s Fury to close, new rollercoaster, more

A nice batch of information concerning The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Orlando expansion has come online, and it confirms a working Hogwarts Express, a new rollercoaster, and the closure of Poseidon’s Fury.

All of this came down via Disney At Work:
Speaking to an employee within the organization, this is what I’ve learned over the weekend:

- Railroad engineers have been on property extensively designing a train track that would run backstage.
- You would be looking out of the train and seeing a video component as you went down the track. Whether that would be similar in technology to King Kong at Universal Florida remains to be seen.
- There is a roller coaster planned for the Jaws area.
- The individual was told to see Poseidon’s Furty [sic] for the last time soon as it was going away by February 1st.

All of this seems to add fuel to the speculation that a Diagon Alley with a Gringott’s Wizarding Bank roller coaster would take over where Jaws left off. Additionally, it is believed that a Hogwarts Express Train would connect from there to the current Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Islands of Adventure.

Poseidon’s Fury is the area right outside the Hogwarts Express entrance of the Wizarding World. I personally have been saying that this area is begging to be closed. Its sole ride is very outdated (but kind of fun). The only thing going for it is the restaurant Mythos.

Potentially, the Poseidon’s Fury area could be used to to build the Hogwarts Express station platform, which visitors would board to get to the new area in Universal Studios where Jaws currently presides.

Universal confirmed a few weeks ago that an Orlando expansion for the Wizarding World is indeed in the works, and that they are closing the Jaws ride in Universal Studios (though they have yet to confirm if this is due to Potter).

Yea. I don't buy that PF will become the train station. Too far away, and I don't think all of LC will become Potter. Too much.

But I do think PF WILL close.

I really, really hope you're right. But I do feel the same way.

And it will, which is sad. A LOT of detail went into the LC that went unappreciated. But Mythos is all that's keeping it alive anymore. Very curious to see what happens with it...

I love the Poseidon area of LC. But honestly Poseidon was a high concept attraction that never really worked for the general guests. Hell, the only reason I liked it was because it was so different. But in all honesty, it was INCREDIBLY cheesy, and aside from the water vortex, not overly impressive.

Mythos is great, and I'll be interested in seeing what happens with it.

As for what could replace the remaining LC.... I think that area could be themed to Rivendell pretty easily.*

*I have no info on this. Just what I think could work.

This. Personally, I'm hoping PF will close for a new LC attraction.

Where are you people coming up with this LOTR/Hobbit stuff? I haven't heard any rumor of this at all. I don't know much at this point, but 'another franchise' was not even hinted at... and it would have been hinted at... I think.

It's my dreaming.

They have hinted at it before. I just don't want Potter taking over LC AND Amity. Way too much room for not enough stuff.

Isn't that like saying that LOTR/Hobbit doesn't have enough stuff to fill 40 acres? And Potter offers a whole lot more mechanical thingys that we can relate to in a modern way. Things we can ride on.

Huh? Not sure what you mean by that.

LOTR can use mechanical thingys as well. Just because it has a midevil theme doesn't mean the rides can't be technologically advanced.

That is the basic acreage that would be used to build Potter stuff if LC and Amity are taken.

Ok, tell us what we can ride in LOTRs. There might be one or two things... but it would be a stretch at best.

Eagles, horses, wargs, boats, etc. "What you ride" doesn't matter as long as the attraction is good. And a ride vehicle can be invented for a ride.

NO franchise has enough to cover that much acreage successfully in a theme park. That much room should be divided between at least 2 franchises. At least.
