Right, but they also have far more attractions than the Universal resort.

I dunno. It's just way, way too much 3-D glasses in one park.

Good point...but in all honesty, it'll kill the realism to have the 3D glasses on a train, versus a dark ride/coaster would be able to get away with it easier.

I keep my mind waaaaaay open to what UC might do. Both imagineering and UC have committed nonsensical atrocities in the past.

Solution? Get rid of Shrek. Now we're back down to 4 in one park.

It's very possible. Although, I know that a standard concrete pipe and risers storm drain system is being installed to handle runoff. Also, I thought that Polyolefin was not allowed in commercial applications. At least I know it is not in some municipalities.

Its very possible that it is some sort of catch basin but not one I have ever sold or come across. We sell a ton of Nyloplast and the occasional NDS catch basins and drain basins down here in South Florida

Well I was noting that although Disney may have fewer 3D attractions, they also have expanded far less with new tech...

I'm trying to count how many ground breaking attractions they've built since the mid 90's. Well...

Anyways 3D and projection technology is the future we can't stop that. Is 3D a gimmick IMO yes. Is it necessary to tell a story in many ways? Yes it is and you will and already do see it in Disney's attractions as well. Will Gringotts blow everything else out of the water? Without a doubt.

I'm not saying it's not going to be awesome. Because it is.

I'm saying it's extremely, extremely disappointing that yet another attraction in the park will use 3-D glasses. Because it is.

Shrek and T2 need to go, IMO. And not replaced with more 3-D.

I am kind of odd in that I LOVE 3D in an attraction (Spider-Man, Star Tours, etc.) But I have grown tired of the theater style 3D movie attractions (Muppets, Bugs, Phil, etc.).

I agree wholeheartedly. I would love to see Shrek and T2 go the way of the dodo, as Skip suggested.

Agreed, even if UO is going overboard with 3D (Star Tours is my favorite ride, but that's partially because I love SW)

I think calling it the only way of the future is a bit narrow sighted. There's plenty of room for physical effects and animatronics as well.

Uni just isn't good at AAs.

Also, I don't think 3D adds anything to Star Tours.

I have no problems with screens, and I'll probably end up not minding the glasses. It's just sounds silly 2 years out and considering there were no goggles in the movie or book.

IMO, the best screen effect currently in use is musion.

I'm going to love the attraction, but it's frustrating that all the great scenery will be partially hidden by glasses. I want to be able to take in the caverns and stuff like that without the dimming effect.

I just don't want glasses in a Potter attraction. I don't want my view of awesome things obstructed by stupid glasses. FJ doesn't have them neither should Gringotts. IMHO.

This!! It's not exactly the 3D I don't like, it's the glasses that obstruct all the awesome work Creative has put into the attraction.

I guess wearing 3D glasses would be integrated into part of the story. How would they do this? Make it a Polyjuice potion that makes everyone Harry so you have to wear the glasses? Or what else that could be done to explain having to wear them? (Actually watching the movies for the first time; never read the books though, so don't have many ideas on how it could be implemented.)
