Forgive my lack of technical knowledge but will the HE need a pull-through like a Coaster does before it starts testing?

Or does this ride system not operate like that?

From what I've seen this operates like a funicular so they won't really do a pull through for envelope testing like a coaster, as long as the openings it has to travel through were built to spec.

I am worried that they messed up. There appears to be no rails, so I am worried that the train might derail killing hundreds of guests. :look:

*just joking*

on second thought this whole announcement was probably to deflect the whole Bill and Ted situation.

mugglenet just posted on facebook that this is the Gringotts ride. then on their own site saying it "might" be what it looks like. There are going to be a lot of disappointed people when it turns out to be different.

actually yeah, no uplift rails...scary stuff. obviously nearly impossible to fall off for a ton* of reasons, but still. probably extra cable tension to maintain consistent rail contact?

*Pun unintended. you could say it was...punintentional :blank:

I got to see the trains on the track from Dragon Challenge today. It really looks incredible and my friends were making fun of how excited I was to see the trains haha. On the same note, I could clearly see at least 15 people working on the south station today at once, there were probably plenty more I couldn't see. Keep up the good work Uni!

Also for those praising the exterior of the Express, I assure the interior is even more impressive...

I have not seen the plans but I dont think you can just say "better or worst". I cant say spiderman is better or worst than mummy. They are two totally different rides and concepts.

I sure hope not. I mean all those track changes are cool, but if they had that many types I would expect the ride to be down about 80% of the time. Also, I'm not expecting an inversion at all. Very cool animatic though.

Here's a photo I took the other night:
IMG_1991.JPG

The interesting thing is that the right-hand side of the locomotive (the one that's not on the tracks yet) appears smoother & less detailed than the left side (on the tracks). That supports HTF's claim that both locomotives will face south station -- no need to add rivets to a surface no guest ever sees...

People have to realize that animatic is a pitch animatic showing all the tricks that company is capable of producing. While I wouldn't go as far as saying it would be a nightmare for ops, but I would say a ride system like this would be asking for it

Even after Gringotts their will still be those that feel Spidey is still King, it's that good. And I agree with your statement.

Yes and no, yes they will remain floating, but no you the guest will never see them as floating thanks to the way the South Station platform is being built.
