I would quicker think that the actual entrance is the larger opening to the right of that door. I cannot think of a major Orlando attraction that has people enter through a single-width doorway. However, I could be oh-so wrong.

Agreed, that would be a tight space to squeeze people through

FWIW,

Stand bye to the left, Express in the middle, and singles to the right

Are you intending to tell us that there are literally three separate doors? Two short and one tall? And that the bigger hole to the far right is for "something else"???

Teebs the three doors on the left are the main entrance. With stand bye on left, express up the middle, and singles to the right. The large opening to the right of the three doors is the rides test seat location. The test seat will feature the three lights again indicating yes, no, big boy seat along with an attendant to expedite the process.

When I said what you see isn't really what your gonna get is due to an overhang at the entrance indicating what line you need to be in. The openings are also going to be wider than they appear here. Don't ask how I know, but they will. Hope that helps Teebs.

Thanks HTF. Is PCL still the primary contractor on the building construction or am I confusing them with the TF crew? I know there were two big companies brought in for the in-park stuff.

I know that PCL was the GC early on in the project.

Hi, I'm new here and did a lot of catching up.
I have a question and maybe someone knows the answer.
When you look at the London facades of the most right building (the one closest to the Fear Factor show) you can see right trough it, it looks like it has no back. When I saw the photo's from above I could see the space behind it has is followed by other building but these are very nicely themed on that side. Will the back be closed up and why isn't it yet?

Okay, so I googled "Diagon Alley Universal" and this popped up:

Could this potentially be something? I can't make anything out of it but it struck my interest.

That's from a patent filed by Universal for a fire shield. Screamscape posted it a couple weeks ago: https://www.google.com/patents/US8523692

And if I'm not mistaken, HateToFly suggested that it was originally proposed for use in FJ.

Even if this tech isn't used inside Gringotts, it would be awesome to see it in a smaller scale, maybe in one of these supposed mind-blowing store windows. Similar to 1:18 in this video?

Cool, thanks! So this was the fire shield then, interesting... And the Dragon display would be killer! I mean sure, it'd probably be a 40 minute wait for a fancy gumball machine, but I'd be in line.

Has it actually been confirmed that Dynamic Structures is involved? In any case I found an article originally from in May 2012: http://www.newsparcs.com/en/article..._two_major_contracts_including_one_in_the_uae

No, but it certainly sounds like the first contract (30 million) would be for Universal or Disney. That's too pricey for really any other theme park operator (especially since it's not for a whole ride, just mechanical and structural parts).

However, if I had to make an educated guess it is for Soarin' Over the World in Shanghai, especially since they were involved in that ride in the past. May 2012 seems an appropriate time for the contract to go out for that project, I would have to imagine Gringott's contracts had occurred 6 months prior.

I thought we would start with a little HD POV video. This video will give you an idea of what's it's like to charter a helicopter for a photo shoot. This is not your typical $29.99 tour.

Check your volume. I did lower the sound track but it still may be a little loud.

It's a long video but there are some good shots of UOR construction.

Here we go . . .

I'm going to have to reprocess the video as YouTube for some reason made a mess of it.

Sorry about the camera angle being a little to high. We'll do better next time.

I'm off to process more photos.

They've just posted a bunch of picture over on 'a certain site that has to do with chatting mice' that shows a lot of the new details. I wish Universal would stop making all this awesome stuff because it's kind of awkward when my favorite ride/area at Universal changes every few months...

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I think its worth noting that for the first time in as long as I can remember....IOA and the Studios' hours are in congruence starting in March and April (for except like 3 days). Are they anticipating softs with Hogwarts Express/Diagon that early?
