They were out in full force this past weekend. Super popular from what I could tell. They are pretty cool. The colors typically match the colors of the fireworks. However, I question the "point" of them, as you really can't see them while they are on your head. I think a Wand that did the same thing would be even more popular.

Actually, they aren't as popular as you think. What you saw were free glow ears which were handed out to people who were part of an event. Trust me. They are NOT selling and are NOT popular.

Thanks for the London and HE pics, DH! It's looking more and more awesome by the day! Seeing all those details is giving me such a thrill and excitement! I can't wait for this to finish taking shape

BTW, I'm surprised this hasn't come up on here. From @UORBuzz on Twitter:

"Painting has begun on the front facade of Diagon Alley pic.twitter.com/UeJdFKBJuv"

CONCEPT ART SPOTTED IN PARK. Without breaking ANY rules my friend and I stumbled upon 3 large prints of unreleased concepts for the new Diagon expansion. I'll say that they were behind closed doors somewhere in port of entry. One depicted Gringots facade with what I thought was a shinny possibly metallic dome WITH a dragon perched at top, wings in the air. (PLEASE NOTE I AM AWARE OF ALL CURRENT LEAKED AND NONE LEAKED ART AND THESE ARE NOT ANY OF THOSE) one of the others was a view fr either inside the train station or under the glass canopy on the right side of the new land by the "goblin" show area. Anyways, I'm excited. Took a photo but am afraid to post and it's not the most clear photo.

Lucky!! Why don't I ever stumble into any of that good stuff?

The great thing is that most WDW CMs wouldn't know GK if they checked his lap bar. Much less his partner. And Mark Woodbury? Who's that?

I wouldn't recognize any Disney higher ups, but I would never miss Mark Woodbury. I even got a picture with him

I just found this message board and am so glad I did! I am very much looking forward to and counting down the days until Diagon Alley opens! I just read all 53 pages to get caught up. I live way out in California so don't get to Florida often. But I made my first trip to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure last year, specifically to see WWoHP. I am planning on heading back in September of next year to visit the expansion. Just wanted to give a BIG THANKS to all of you who live close and give us these updates. All the inside information, speculation, photos and videos are very interesting, fun and informative and a great way to spend the days counting down to the opening! I don't know that I'll be able to add much to the conversation, but thought I'd register, say hi and input if I can instead of just trolling around! So,

I've seen Phil Holmes walking around the MK a few times. I saw him once near the emporium and near HM. I also saw Rilous Carter and Tom Fitzgerald near Star Tours when it reopened. I've only seen Woodbury once and that was at the TF announcement. I was trying to see Optimus and Bumblebee that night when they appeared in front of the globe. I turned around to move a bit and Woodbury and Coup were right there walking right past me.

Olá gente (hi guys),

As you can see I'm from Brazil. I have been following OU forums since the first news of the WWoHP expansion, but I haven't participated much, because always when I have an idea to post here, I get a bit lazy to do so (writing a simple sentence in english takes me 1000X longer than writing it in portuguese!)

I found some interesting things on that Universal official photo of the train being lowered (maybe someone else may has also spotted):

  • 1st image below: The cable system can be clearly seen;
  • 2nd image below: We can see that the back end of the engine (that doesen't have wheels for supportiong) is really going to be supported by the coal car just as Teebin has thought (you can see atachment bases and an attachment beam - all in green - sorry for the bad image editing).
We can also find a big cluster inside the coal car - in orange (maybe for processing all the huge amount of video information that are going to be displayed on the windows!!!)

I was also thinking... correct me if I am wrong... that there are flat wheels only on one side of the train due to the lack of a track switch. Because of this, if all wheels were double edged the train wouldn't be able to cross the intersection of the tracks (all the tracks represented are totaly stationary, the intersection doesn't have moveable parts):

PS: Sorry about my English, it isn't the best yet! (I'm taking classes, gonna be a pro! :look: )

You guys at OU are the best!

The assumptions are correct with the exception of the end weight of the locomotive. Every car is individually supported by a train bogie.

Well they did Look cool, but I didn't ask how much they were. $25? No way in hell I would pay that much. $10 tops.

Back on topic. Glad to see some testing has begun and paint has been applied. At this point I think this park may be open before the 7DMT

You find us a picture of a bogie under the back end of the engine and I will keep quiet. There is no such rig on the engine in the full hi-res promo picture Uni released.

This may have been discussed before, but the trains will not be making a full u-turn after loading up at the station, right? Wouldn't that mean the a train would pull into a station, load up, and then return to the other train backwards? Forgive me if this is a really stupid question. I haven't been following the train progress that closely.

Can we modify the term "train bridge" to "train trestle" as trestle is the true and correct word for "train bridge".

I misspoke earlier and I apologize, it was a long day and misread something.

Intamin is doing the track for Gringotts
Doppymar is doing the cable driven system for the Express and Itec is doing the show systems for express.

Also lots of brick work being done on all facades. The grimmauld facade loks rough and heavily cracked on the top and not intemtipnally. The glass window on the train station is being installed. Once again no pics sorry :/

Felipe it honestly resembles it to a tee..except the brickwork and stones on top are sagging pretty bad. I noticed it from quite a ways off...
