To put it best:

To be blunt. I released a story because I had legal documents showing that land in England was acquired by the Comcast Corporation.

If and when I see documents showing a contract or agreement between Comcast and PortAventura, you better believe I would be making the same sort of exposé on this story.

I just have not seen it YET. Maybe someday.

I am not being dismissive, I am being thorough. I invite every little sign of this happening though, as when and if I do make that video, I will be including it all as evidence that led to the final outcome. It's part of the journey, but it's not enough to go on yet.

I sure did. You're always spot on.......These people are searching for Fools Gold, mostly because a few continental self called Universal insiders ( I can't recall knowing there were any European continental Universal insiders before :D :lmao:) created rumors by equating co- incidences with fact.

I'm doing a read through from your original post and it's hilarious how wrong certain posters were. Dan Cooper alone was pretty much wrong on every single point he made.

As it was rumoured and reported, the new Woody Island store is now open.

Meanwhile, some fun developments are having place in the domain department. But that’s not for me to share.

Visited PortAdventura last week for the first time, and it's not on the level of a modern Universal park. It would take quite a bit of investment to get it to that point. That being said I still had an awesome time. Shambala, Dragon Khan, Red Force, and Street Mission are all wonderful rides. The design of the lands are beautiful but maintenance is iffy and the whole place was a lil shabby. Sadly Temple del Fuego, the train, and mayan mirror maze were all closed which is too bad because those kind of C/D ticket attractions really help round out the day.

Uncharted is one of the weirdest rides ever. Very nice work in the queue, awesome theming on the showbuilding itself, the coaster design is super fun and surprising, but the on ride theming is frankly atrocious. Like laughably bad and unfinished. The screens are pixelated and not properly integrated into sets, the audio is awkwardly quiet, and there is no seperation of show scenes so you see everything as soon as you enter the gravity building. They should just turn off all the screens and run it in the pitch black and it would be a real improvement.....

It would take a good chunk of change to fix, but it's the most extreme mismatch I've ever seen of an awesome ride experience ruined by awful theming

Also went to Port Aventura this year, I agree with you regarding Unchartered but don’t share your thoughts that the park is shabby. I thought it was beautiful in all honesty and well maintained.

These are another park that what’s benefited from a change in management. I believe there is a new operations director who’s gone in on the guest experience, and it was vastly improved this year to previous visits (3 trains running on Shambhala, new wait time screens, appears that fast tracks have been limited to an extent)

I am a bit surprised that Universal haven’t pressed ahead here in all honesty. I reckon the foundations are there to turn this into an incredible Universal resort, at probably a fraction of the cost.

My thoughts are this is potentially down to scalability. Whilst the location is fantastic, on the coast, great climate, year around…it’s maybe just a bit too far from a major city to pull in the kind of numbers that excite Universal. I believe Barcelona is an hour away, and although connected by rail, doesn’t enjoy the same infrastructure as DLP to Paris.

As a resort, I think it’s the most Universal, none Universal resort, so there must be a strong reason for them not going in here, when it’s up for sale.

I don't understand the decision tbh.

The only pro I see that the UK has over Universal buying/renovating PortAventura is that it'd be a clean slate for them to work with. I really can't think of anything else... Spain has better weather, more visitors, and is located in the EU. I personally don't think the UK park actually happens but if it does, it will most likely end up being more of a boutique park similar to Singapore. Spain has potential for an experience similar to Orlando imo.

With how active this post was, feels weird to see it completely dead.

There hasn't been any news about potential buyers in national or local spanish media, so I guess the price was really too high(I never wanted to believe the 1b price tag because it just sounded stupid) not just for Universal but for any other company

There’s a saying that might fit nicely in this case: no news is good news.

It could always get worse than this hahaha

Yeah, no news its always better than news that some vulture capitalist firm has buying it, but still, the current one already is a vulture firm, so having them more time dictating the resort future is always worrying, I hope we get something soon as this summer has been brutal, it has felt like the budget have been cut by several orders of magnitude

Something is happening, that’s for sure, with the management team being replaced, including the managing director, I’m sure we will have some news about it soon.

Whether we like it or not… I feel optimistic about it.

Last couple of months operations have been at its worst, ride closures a daily occurrence, so whoever buys the resort it will be good news, doesn't seem like it can get much worse than it is right now, but I am still worried that it can take many more years before they realize they have to lower the price to get anybody interested
