It is genuinely a bummer that, lighting or no lighting, the show scenes are Incredicoaster-level quality. I really did not expect Seven Dwarfs to come out looking like a better ride here.

I very much disagree with this, it's definitely a step up from Incredicoaster. I've never been on Incredicoaster myself but to my knowledge most of the "show scenes" are just static figures. This coaster actually has animatronics and moving props. I just finally saw a clip of the full
ending Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong scene
and it looks great!

Yeah, this is miles ahead of Incredicoaster when it comes to theming. They just installed a few static figures into a coaster that was not intended to be themed, which comes off as extremely cheap and jarring. While the figures here are not fully articulate animatronics, most of them have a decent amount of movement, and do well enough to fill a few short scenes throughout the ride.

Oh yeah, I don’t dispute that the theming is better here. But to be frank I believe it’s the best point of comparison — and I think the bar should be higher for a family coaster built from the ground up, relative to a thrill coaster that was retrofitted 15 years after opening.

Idk, the hype here had me believing that the final scene would be something pretty substantial. Instead it reminds me a lot of Incredicoaster’s giant Jack-Jack.

EDIT: Oh and I want to be clear, I’m talking figures and show scenes. Obviously the outdoor theming absolutely rocks.

There is a Donkey Kong figure in the final scene that has not been shown in any POV video yet. It's been described that he pounds the ground, which causes a projection mapping effect where debris falls in the background. There's an abrupt cut in the POV posted here that skips over that scene for some reason.

That queue would look better if they could block the natural light somehow (e.g., keep louvered panels to retain natural air but block light) to make the area very dim. Then use colored spotlights, gobos/light stencils, and projections to give the area interest and playfulness. And the overall dim lighting will hide the boring monochromatic environment, unattractive ceiling and fans, etc. The whole area could slowly change color theme, lots of potential to make the multi-hour wait more pleasant.

Honestly, the entire attraction seems like it was initially designed to work in much lower-light conditions.

Which is very poor planning if so. What went wrong here?

Here is a POV that includes the full ending, I'm not noticing a projecting mapping effect but it's possible it's not working or not captured well in the POV:

This looks fine, my only gripe being the indoor section looking so bad.

It's shorter than I expected, admittedly. Some of the track tricks are really nifty, but the pacing... I dunno. Scene at the end looks great, outdoor animation is fun, but I'll agree that the tunnel could've used more work. Reminds me of Dudley Do-Right, non-complimentary.

I’ve changed my mind. Based on a POV, I can’t say im super impressed. That said ride system seems to be the continued star here but everything else makes it seem like rope drop or bust.

BRUH. Why is it in every single POV, they don’t show the DK AA at the end of the ride??? Dude, I don’t want to see your kid, I want to see the DK animatronic!

Probably cause everyone keeps missing it. It’s staged in a silly place.

They probably thought the ride was about to end and wanted to avoid scolding from the USJ team members. I once filmed the Forbidden Journey load station on my phone and they made me delete the video!

I think the perfect way to describe this is "what would have happened if Yoshi's Adventure and Yoshi's Snack Island opened after the rest of the land". It fits perfectly as a complimentary attraction and seems to be a good, albeit short ride, but after four years of hype it feels underwealming. Epic won't have the same problem thankfully.

I think this mini land needs a flat ride; anything really.

No room unfortunately. Maybe they could add one in Orlando but here they're locked in by Harry Potter.

Whatever happened to the other Power-Up Band games that were supposed to be here? I remember the model had an extra one near Rambi and the datamined app had a third. Gotta wonder if there were budget cuts.
