Well at least it had a decent run today. Little by little it will get to the point where it can be open all day with only a few problems so let's just hang in there our time to ride will come soon enough

I smell soft pretzels or perhaps special AP holder pretzels.
Why? Well, they've finally introduced their new pretzel recipe to some, and within three days smoothed out some rough edges on those pretzels. Sure enough, they'll smooth them out some more and need somebody to test them before the official release of these new pretzels.

Has anyone said how long the preview is open today? Did they extend it?

they're getting people to test the ride everyday for 2 hours and it still breaks down

they don't have to open it up for anyone else, but of course if they did it would be a huge gift :)

Until when are these package holders/on-site guests previews expected to last?

Yeah I don't expect soft anything anytime soon. Do they want to soft it of coarse but it's really is (no lie) on a day to day basis for the most part. So only time will tell & I for one almost hope more for a public soft rather than a passholder preview in some ways. Think about how many passholders there are so unless you span it across a few nights & have people sign up for which night they want to come (like TMs did) it will be a complete madhouse.

Weight may not be the issue...think more towards SIZE. What happens when you try to over stuff a canolli? It eventully breaks open.

Consider a very large human who stuffed themselves into a seat and had their friend SMASH the shoulder restraint down to the first lock...

With the way FJ twists turns and flips, the should restraints could shift a millimeter, literally a millimeter, and fault the ride because someone's restraint is loose.

This is correct, yesterday anyway. I was told a gentleman yesterday could not get the restraint down its full 3 clicks. He refused to get out of the seat when prompted. My sourse didn't tell me if the ops ee let him ride on anyway which tripped a sensor, or if the fact all restraints weren't down as of a certain point in the load station caused the trip, but this one person caused a complete failure of the system that they couldn't recover from. My source said it's been soemthing different every day, not necessarily tied to weight; for example, Thursday's ee preview was the result of operator error.

Anyhoo, I was told as a result of yesterday's portly insurrection, they're going to be installing test seats inside the queue prior to the load station, and will be making tall and large guests test out the seat prior to be allowed to proceed to the load station.

I really don't understand the sense of entitlement many theme park guests seem to get. They ruin it for everyone else. I mean, I'm 6'4", 275 w/ a 52" chest. I will be upset if I don't fit (considering how long I've followed the devlopment of the irde and such), but I would never think of delibertly disobeying the rules. I hope they tresspassed this guy.

FJ did not run for 2 hours today. They stopped the mad dashers at the hogs and the line formed from there out into hogsmeade. They let us in to the castle at about 8:25, I was at the front of the line. They then stopped us before the common room and repeatedly told us the ride was not functioning. It was after 9 when they started moving us up to the loading station, mind you, a TM had just walked thru the line saying it's not operating at this time..then they let us on. So I'd give it MAYBE 1 hr today. Part of my family was quite a ways behind me in line and they stopped twice during the ride momentarily.

Forgot to mention... there is now a set of seats, or the "magical bench" in the line after the common room, when they ask you how many you have, any person who was questionable, they made them sit in the seats to make sure they would be able to ride.....

Honestly, I seriously doubt they will soft open. Why? This is their brand new baby. They already have a good amount of people to test it on daily with the on site guests and package holders. They haven't had the Grand Opening yet, why would they let the hoards in early? Look what happens to HHN stuff in the course of a week. The more people they let in the more they have to fix. If they do a passholder preview I would not be surprised if it's not until after the GO..then it wouldn't be a preview at all, would it?
Anyway, lots of pics in the latest Behind The Thrills update, including the new gate and some dragons queue pics.

It was really cool, I don't want to give any details/spoilers but I will say I got very motion sick..so be prepared for that if you get sick on any rides. It's like spiderman on steroids. Someone just posted that it's like they tweaked some of the newest technology, but it's not really brand new technology and I agree with that assessment

I suppose what I'm sort of hoping is that we arrive and ride FJ at rope-drop, expecting a 60-90 mins wait already on arrival. They've apparently said that the queue for FJ can handle 6 hours of people. If it does indeed peak at that rate during the day, 6 hours of people queueing is a heck of a lot of IOA's attendance, so hopefully the rest of IOA won't be as horrific (maybe 60min+ wait on popular rides).

How was the wait for Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge?

DC has been a walk on both days I've been there and FoTH has been 5 mins every time I've passed it, except once it said 35.

I'm processing a video of the Forbidden Journey ride for those who want spoilers. But it's very, very dark. I tweaked as much as I could without pixelating it too much. You won't see much but you can hear it. I'll let you know when it's online.

When I was in line the second time, the line started in the greenhouse and snaked back and forth. It moved at a steady pace, which was good, but an hour later when I was one room away from loading, it went down.

seriously is kinda scary

only 19 days to go,
i hope all the tech problems are fixed.

Damn, anything 19 days to go should be running at full.
I guess is going suck for grand opening if all hell breaks lose (mobs of people) and a broke down ride.

Dont think any UC people going to get any sleep for next 3 weeks.

hope there wont be any potter riot.

cool.
But I recommend, putting a BIG SPOILER warning label in front of the video tho
even if i is dark and cant see anything.

it will ruin the ride for a lot of hyped up people who dont know what to expect.

Or just post the video in this thread....people can just not watch it. It's not like a picture where you get a revealing image. A video is only revealing if you clicl play.
