The Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster

I don't see why this is such a huge deal. Yes, it's rusty. Yes, it looks bad. The last thing I'm looking at when I'm riding The Hulk is the color of the track ahead of me though. I can't tell it being extra rough at that part, so I don't see why it matters that much. It's defiantly not a safety issue it's just a issue of how it looks at one small part. I don't see why you would want them to shut down this coaster for a day or two just to paint a certain part of the track.

Just my 2 cents.

Can i just say i love this thread! I think that it does look so tatty now but does it effect the ride at all really or just the appearence i still think they should take the time to clean it up and give it a paint!

The whole ride needs paint its VERY faded and has rust alot of differnt places than that.

Because that is just basic maintenance, rust never sleeps so they need to paint it protect the steel.
Nobody want the ride to be down for a couple of days for service, but it is a necessity and servicing the ride goes with the territory.
Plus it should look good, USOR is not the State Fair!

Exactly. The way it looks now gives the impression that Universal just doesn't care how the park looks, which makes the place feel cheap and trashy. It's one of the reasons, IMO, that Disney is more popular because there's an impression of quality and cleanliness at their parks, as compared to Universal.

I agree because there can be alot of good said about how clean the park is and which is why Disney is better at cleaning there parks than Universal.

And on the Hulk matter: Sure the paint problem might be so little, but there is so much that we don't see (like the awful rust) which is the real problem and that is what we all are talking and rising up a storm about.

that is not a reason. not to get in a debate, but the reason is the brand name disney has, not how the park looks. granted ioa isnt the cleanest park in the world, its not AS bad as everybody has said. Yes, there are areas that need some paint and some dust ups, but its not like disney is spotless. I've seen PLENTY of spots in disney that need paint as well.also, almost every time i go to ioa i see some painting and cleaning up going on, so they do put forth an effort. the average tourist goes to disney primarily because of its grand history and publicity, not because a spot in one ride needs to be painted. Ioa will become more of an icon as it gains popularity from WWoHP.

Again, this debate is not meant for this thread, and im not slating disney, im just clarifying something.

As promised, I made it out to IOA yesterday and got a few pics of ole Rusty. It was raining, cold, and the mist under the bridge seemed to be magnified by 100 so it made it very hard to get the usual pics. Here's what I got.

Damn. I kind of, ahem, forgot about this entire forum for months upon months. I finally get the time to get back into it, and for some reason I got this idea that, in those months, Universal had decided to step up their game and paint the Hulk.

Of course, that's not the case.

This is the most ridiculous thing since Rockit.
