^ Paint is expensive, especially Hulk Green. Nothing in the park matters anymore except Harry Potter and if there is any painting going on it will be for Harry only. Hulk is also protected now by DADT, so doesn't matter what anyone says. UOR believes that if the lack of paint on Hulk gives you the amusement of talking about it on here then it has succeeded as an "amusement" park. Rusting columns ups the feeling of danger and fear of riding, thereby enhancing the experience of the ride.

Finally, if the truth be told; there are no comptroller docs to do this work.

I think alot of people might agree that while Harry Potter is a great ride, Universal needs to start working on some of the other rides that lost some color or got rusty over time.

I completly agree with your view and I can't argue against it but while it does all that, it still shows and screams Universal's poor cleaness and care.

Does IOA need to pull a permit to paint the Hulk? Thats one thing I'm curious about. For all of you trolling the permit site, maybe something will pop up and give us an indication about it.

What does that G1 stand for on the second pic? The 1 g-force felt on the launch?

I'll place a bet that it won't be painted at all this year. I'd love to see Universal give Hulk some much needed TLC but something tells me that they aren't bothered as long as the ride is still popular.

It will get some TLC, the parks suffer some of their lowest attendance now in the next month or so until presidents day weekend. It should  get painted in the next month.

Here's to hoping.

I wouldn't count on this month or even next month for sure. They're busy focusing on refurbishing Dudley which is going to take enough money and time as it is. I'd say no earlier than March myself, but even then I'm not holding my breath.

Well Dudley was due to go down for seasonal winter maintenance anyways pretty soon regardless, so they are killing two birds with one stone, as they did with Rockit as well. But from everything I read, the damage was in a part of the ride that no guests go through anyways, so it shouldn't hinder ride performance at all if they were to re-open it sooner than expected.

Let's hope so!

A bit OT, but since you mentioned it, how crowded is the week after President's Day? That's the week I'm there and someone said it's peak time, but I've also heard February's quiet.

That particular weekend/week can be a bit crowded.

Its no where near summer crowds, but again that was B.P. (before potter) so its possible the crowds will be heavier this year.

Well, that is a bit of a slow-starter. The Parks put out for bids, receive bids and then make a decision and tell the vendor when they need it done. When all is cleared and the decisions are made, they pull a permit even though it might be a week away from starting. Bummer huh?

Edit, for clarification, this is for the smaller stuff like a paint job. The big plans take sooooooo long, that we can know a lot about a project months in advance.
