Yea they were selling a bunch of Batman stuff too. Which suprised me considering the relationship with Marvel. However the packaging on the Transformers toys did say Universal Studios Hollywood.

Makes sense. Uni selling Uni-exclusive merch from their sister park due to predetermined licensing agreements.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if USH will do the same thing but with Potter before WWOHP Hollywood opens? Also, this could be the next step to announcing TF in USF.

I know we talked briefly about where the entrance is going to be located but has there been any discussion about what "section" of the park Universal will consider this ride to be in? It's sort of in a position to be Production Central, New York, or Hollywood. I'm assuming they'll go with Hollywood?

I'm thinking it will be Hollywood, yea. I'm expecting the entrance to be on the Lagoon side, so that would make sense.

Foundation beam at grade level being inspected tomorrow. We'll be seeing above grade vertical construction soon.

Hollywood Construction started on April 22nd 2010 and the ride opened April 19th 2012. Exactly 2 years.

Where we are at today, Hollywood was at in late Nov 2010.

If they go the same pace the rest of the way that gives us 17 months to go.

That would be Jan of 2014. Like I said before if they go a little faster it would be Nov-Dec 2013. Oct would be a stretch also.

To think they could get it done by June/July of 13 is nuts. Unless they give us a bootleg version.

AND IF THEY DO PULL IT OFF I WILL BE THERE OPENING DAY!! TO SHAKE ALL OF YOUR HANDS!! LOL!!

Well I meant to say from where they are now. Guess I forgot to add that, now that I go back and read what I said, I can see how it sounded like that. Plus if you watched construction you will see that Hollywood version was built at snails pace while this is being build at subsonic speed.

Just came back, and they're still doing construction even with tropical storm force winds just around the corner, absolutely incredible.

It's midnight here... and calm as a may morning short of a few light rain showers. It will just be breezy tomorrow with a few mini-gusts. I am sure the multi-level contingencies they had in place would cause most of us to sit down and cry overwhelmed by the complexities of it all. Good news is that there is no news for CF. A 20' tide surge into Tampa bay might have been good television however. (that is my black sarcastic politically based humor only and not a true wish for the people of Tampa Bay)

Yah, its not so bad right now. Just light rain at the moment and general thunderstorminess tomorrow. No construction will likely happen tomorrow because of the abundance of caution everyone is exercising, but it may not be bad at all over there. What's the local "on the ground" forecast for Orlando?

^ Drippy rain. Severe thunderstorms overnight. Possible tornadoes. An average CF day except at night.

Literally exactly that. I was half hoping for another hurricane (lived where charlie hit in 2004).

Yup. Where I am it's just a steady, constant light rain. Nothing intense at all like we were expecting (and hoping).

^It's flooded down here in SoFlo. I'm surrounded by overflowing canals and failing drains.

But anyway, I don't see this being affected at all. I think a sink hole would have to develop for this to slow down.

Can you pour concrete in a heavy rain ? Will it dry right? Would you like to be in the tower crane during lightning?
This one might should be in other thread, Will it wash the topsoil into the lagoon?

Not anything you want to have a finish on, or don't want delluted.
If they don't have their silt walls up... it could wash away, but I seriously doubt they don't have the screens up.

The wind may not have been an issue, but there was a LOT of flooding down here in South Florida. Palm Beach schools were closed yesterday and today...

Yesterday was actually a really good day to be a guest in USF. Park attendance low, but the parade and spectacular went off without a hitch. The Blues Brothers even played to a big crowd for their mini stage. I even saw a few construction vehicles.
