Yes it was - I remember both the private media grand opening (which was fantastic - I wish a show with that amount of pyrotechnics could be allowed every night) and the public grand opening, and the Today Show was at the public grand opening as well?

I wish I could go, but have taken too much time off of work for doctor appointments to even think about asking for Thursday morning off. I thought about it because my mother-in-law is in town and can watch my daughter, but don't think my manager would be too happy. Grrrr..... stupid appointments.

Rode today for the 3rd time, but 1st time with the approach of looking to the sides and behind me, and I noticed one scene where if you look to your right you can clearly see the next room over (both the screen and the ride vehicle). Anyone else notice this? I don't remember this being possible in Spiderman.

I've seen the back of the ride vehicle moving away from screen 4 (Doc Ock and Scream) in Spidey when pulling up to Electro's screen. I've also caught a glimpse of the city scene before the levitation scene while levitating.

In Transformers, you can see the explosion lights from Megatron's missile when pulling up to the graffiti wall before that scene. I've also been able to look left to see both elevator shaft exits when pulling up to screen 4 (Megatron grabs Evac).

Grand Opening Rehearsal going on tonight at closing, should be quite a sight.

I've seen the back of the ride vehicle moving away from screen 4 (Doc Ock and Scream) in Spidey when pulling up to Electro's screen. I've also caught a glimpse of the city scene before the levitation scene while levitating.

I have a theory about this, particularly Scene 3 of Spidey (Electro and Scream.)

Go to Youtube and watch two Spidey POVs side by side. If you sync it up right in the beginning, you should notice that they end at about a second apart from each other. I think that different passenger loads affect how fast an RV travels through the course, to some extent. During the ride, the RV has to constantly compensate and match its predetermined profile. A different load than what it was programed with will throw it off slightly.

Its barely a difference, and doesn't affect the ride experience, but I think it's some good food for thought for the geeks here.

I enjoyed the ride this morning. We were able to walk on around 9:45. I can't really comment on the queue and we walked right up to glasses distribution without stopping. I enjoyed it. But the rest of my family was disappointed and drew there own comparisons to Spiderman. They said it's better than an empty building, but not one of their favorites.

Awesome so we ill hear about it tomorrow? ...Orlando Attractions Magazine said they would be posting their videos of the opening immidiately after...and Universal posted on fb to follow the ceremony on twitter...so maybe they will be posting some live stuff
