The plot of land directly south of Cabana Bay has a perimeter of .87 miles, while Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon has a perimeter of .73 miles. (Excluding the Parking Lots. So it's a tight squeeze, but they could build there.
I was told Hotel 5 was going in the plot right next to Cabana Bay and there really isn't any more larger plots on property. Too bad they won't buy out Dr. Phillips High or something. That would be crazy.

I can assure you anything west of Universal is off limits.

Room for MAJOR expansion??

Waterparks are very easy to conserve space with..unlike a dark ride that requires a building that takes up a footprint and can only feature one ride on that footprint..with a waterpark you can have multiple slides attached to one staircase or footprint and simply intertwine them..they can also cross over paths and do all sorts of weird things...I've found also that the layout of a waterpark does not have to be quite as condusive for guest flow as, say, Islands (continuous circle) and they tend to be very randomly organized...I'm sure that everyone has been to a waterpark and knows what I'm saying, just reinforcing the idea that it is possible..

If we can dream it, then we can do it, yes we caaaaan..

Very true, although I don't know how they will address the I-4 issue. A berm with trees? If you're at the top of one of the slides, you're gonna see Semi trucks zooming down the highway (or, more realistically, stuck in traffic).

Hopefully they won't build a corrugated metal wall like they did between Dragons and Dr. Phillips ;)

To be fair, you can see much of the same at the top of many of Blizard Beach's slides

^ I would imagine a mix of giant timber bamboo and washington palms. That said, there is little they will be able to do with the fly ramp of exit 74A.

Have you guys seen anything for layout? A thought I had is if the taller attractions were facing the interior of their property (away from I4) and only having the lower lying attractions on the other side. But I don't know exactly what they are working with here.

While I will not answer your first question, I will tell you that it appears they have very little concern about I4. In one instance however, it may be difficult to tell whether or not you are on a water coaster or exit ramp 74A, or vice versa. :stunned:

Being able to see something from the top of a tower is ok, you can never hide everything. Aquatica is right by I-drive and yet you never really notice it, now wet 'n wild on the other hand ...

Thanks, I am thinking I may be fine with that for a water park. No matter what there will be bad views from up high. But I'll wait till I see and hear more.

Weeeell actually, there will be 4-6 instances in which people will be up very high, and not see any of the surrounding area yet the view should be warmly very cool.

So from atop the Volcano it should be a nice view...but you wont be able to see the roads, rather your view will be creatively obstructed?

Yeah, more like this. There will not be any 200' drops that I am aware of or have seen.

But, let me take this a bit further. One of the lead contractors for this project is PROSLIDE of Ottawa.

Take a look at their offerings here: http://www.proslide.com/our-water-rides/

Hone your eyes on:

Pipeline WAVE
Tornado WAVE
Hydromagnetic Mammoth
Kidz Tornado 12 or 24 (unclear)
and finally... drumroll
SkyBOX

Expansion options appear to take Mammoth to the next level. Perhaps they will name it Titanosaur.

My trance-like "visions" see no straight-line slides at all. Everything curves multiple times... some to the point of lunacy. I will rest and see if other visions come to me. Enough for now.

Dark rides can be built up, Universal has proven that!
We might even see a Water Park with a dark ride using new technology:look: You never know!
I am not aware of any land Universal owns except West of Kirkman Road,
Anything east of Kirkman Road is Vacant or being bought up by Billionaire real estate tycoons looking to tap into Orlando's record breaking tourism numbers (large in thanks to Universal) and Universal knows this.

ISquare Mall - 7 Star Resort, First of it's kind in North America and will do wonders for anything near kirkman and North I Drive
IShops
Orlando Eye
Skyplex Orlando
New Indoor Go Karting
Artegan Orlando
Fun Spots Possible Future Expanions
New Hyatt House

IDrive is becoming that place.

East of Kirkman Road, there was a recent proposal for a 190ft tall hotel tower on major blvd near Holiday Inn Express. It never had legs or is still in "proposed". With things like this not happening, East of Kirkman is major game especially after the Interstate 4 Improvements that is expected to hep traffic flow in the Universal, Kirkman, International Drive area. A Brand new overpass extending Grand National Drive over to Major Blvd is happening in the next 5 years. Universal could have a major push east or south east to have a presence on the revitalizing International Drive which is becoming a destination on it's on. Imagine if Uni had two Gateways in the area?!

Whether a Water Park, or Resort, I do believe Uni will be well represented on I-Drive.

Just visited Holiday World and Splashin Safari in Indiana and took a few rides on Wildebeest and Mammoth. My god do those rides make Crush N Gusher look like water coaster excrement!

If we get a bigger better version of Mammoth, I'll never leave this park!!!

What about the property on Grandnational north of Fun Spot, and the property east of that property? Or the Property South of Festival Bay? Could Universal be eyeing these? Dr. Phillips students can get free passes if they go to another school also so theirs can be bought by Uni.

But the school also buffers the neighborhood from IoA. I think it would be a long hard battle getting across Turkey Lake.

The property South of Festival will be vetoed by the Tangelo Park Neighborhood commission. They murdered the thrill park proposal for that 70 acre parcel of land

The Land North of Fun Spot. Grand National is up for Grabs unless FunSpot has bought it as well.
The Land East of The Land North of Fun Spot On Grand National is owned by the city, or the people who own premium for a future parking garage/transit station of some kind. ( Not sure what kind of legs that has though)

In blue is for the next FunSpot expansion, and the pink triangle is for the upcoming new I4 overpass. The others in yellow-green just seem to be waiting for the right $$$.
