Wow, the attendance for Blizzard and Typhoon is far higher than the projected target for this park. 2.1 M and 1.9 M respectively. This is odd because the projected capacity for this park is a bit higher, even without the expansion plans they have waiting in the wings.

Maybe at this point they're just not sure what kind of effect this will have on guest stay patterns?

EDIT: Also, Disney has a higher number of on-site captive people than Universal can have at this point.

Can someone please, please, please help me get it through my thick skull how a water park of this scope will fit in the land south of Cabana Bay. It just doesn't seem possible no matter how you slice it.

Yes, I understand that, yard-for-yard, the plot is about the same size as Blizzard or Typhoon, but it's the odd shape and positioning of the plot that concerns me (pressed right up against I-4).

Hopefully, I just can't visualize it and they will pull off something stellar.

I was just re-reading Universal's patent for the beach visual effects.

I just noticed there is a provision for steam/gas vents (!!!) under the translucent sand (which is illuminated from below). Holy****. So imagine the sand looking like steaming, smoking, molten lava. Actual steam rising up. Wow.

Then you aren't slicing it correctly. It fits quite nicely, with space left over for two additional water attractions for future options after opening, one of which will be the largest of them all should they decide to build it.

Yea, that's definitely the site of the 5th hotel and convention space. Permits are already filed for the convention stuff, and the first notice of commencement is up for the hotel

The plot of land directly south of Cabana Bay has a perimeter of .87 miles, while Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon has a perimeter of .73 miles. (Excluding the Parking Lots. So it's a tight squeeze, but they could build there.
I was told Hotel 5 was going in the plot right next to Cabana Bay and there really isn't any more larger plots on property. Too bad they won't buy out Dr. Phillips High or something. That would be crazy.
