Or, even if they started build today it would still be a while until it was completed. Figure it would be about 2 years from ground breaking to opening for something so elaborately themed.

Yea. Don't expect it until 2017.

Which to me says WnW will be around until 2018 or 2019. I do see at some point Uni using that property for something different than WnW. I think they could make more money with a hotel and I agree with HTF, I think they could recycle some of the slides/property for WnW. But I guarantee you Uni has plans for that land and it doesn't involve WnW staying open forever.

Yeah what about future resorts using the slides from WetnWild or even making some major changes to the WetnWild property itself and having 2 or 3 on site resorts share parts of the park? Talk about one hell of a way to keep guests on site lol.

So much could (and will) change in the coming years, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

No, just think about how the plans have changed in the past two years though. Wasn't a new Seuss Landing attraction coming before everything else, then they decided on JP, then they decided on Kong? Universal is fast and flexible, looking for opportunities. Instead of saying "we're building a new attraction that will be open in 5 years" then starting work, they start work, work quickly then announce.

Correct. But in the case of this WP, it is considered important guest glue. Both of the UOR parks are pretty sticky at this point... The WP is hoped to keep guests one more day in their new money gobbling hotels.

I think the WP is coming sooner rather than later, I was speaking more of any speculation about the fate of Wet N Wild and the land it sits on.

Love that phrase, Money Gobbling Hotels'..... With the CBBR, Royal Pacific, & the new hotels, the vast majority of hotel rooms are within walking distance of the new water park. And since the bulk of the Portofino clientele probably doesn't visit water parks often, that only leaves the Hard Rock, which isn't really all that far away.

Those destination signs at the cabana bay bus depot are awfully big for just one stop.

Yep, I figure it is somewhat telling that CBBR has three bus stops in that one loop....

What if the water park was called CABANA BAY and the adjacent hotel is the CABANA BAY BEACH RESORT?

It clearly doesn't seem to be heading in that direction, but it would make creative sense for the water park and hotel to be one cohesive experience considering their proximity to each other.

I had an idea like this, where the hotel was already there but a volcano popped up next to it... and if CBBR gets the additional towers they could appear to be being eaten up by the volcano

That was my thought too. People would think it is a hotel and not go realizing it is a separate entrance park and others who stay at the hotel will assume they can get into the water park for free since it has the same name. I don't think Uni would even entertain something like this due to all the confusion it would cause.

That's also a good point. Universal Escape... I mean Universal Orlando Resort does not need another confusing name fiasco to set them back.

I'm kind of confused...I've seen it stated in different places that the Volcano structure would be nearly 200 feet tall, and in other places I've seen 60 feet tall. If its only 60, that's not very tall. The 'mountain' at Typhoon Lagoon supposedly stands between 90-95 feet tall, and the 'mountain' at Blizzard Beach is roughly the same height.
At the same time, 200 feet tall seems too high. I think about 120 feet seems like a good height. Anyone have any insight?

I'm also curious how far away we may be from an announcement on this thing.
