In blue is for the next FunSpot expansion, and the pink triangle is for the upcoming new I4 overpass. The others in yellow-green just seem to be waiting for the right $$$.

Oh Cool! SOmeone bought the land.
I forgot FDOT has all of those construction vehicles there until after the interstate 4 improvements, then it might be all game for that piece of land!!

Thanks for the map!

Yeah, more like this. There will not be any 200' drops that I am aware of or have seen.

But, let me take this a bit further. One of the lead contractors for this project is PROSLIDE of Ottawa.

Take a look at their offerings here: http://www.proslide.com/our-water-rides/

Hone your eyes on:

Pipeline WAVE
Tornado WAVE
Hydromagnetic Mammoth
Kidz Tornado 12 or 24 (unclear)
and finally... drumroll
SkyBOX

Expansion options appear to take Mammoth to the next level. Perhaps they will name it Titanosaur.

My trance-like "visions" see no straight-line slides at all. Everything curves multiple times... some to the point of lunacy. I will rest and see if other visions come to me. Enough for now.

If they build the volcano big enough, then I imagine a lot of stairs and slide entries can be inside of it, hence you won't be have to wait outside and instead will be inside, and it will be nice and cool.

With the mention of skybox, I said it before, I hope they will do something like Aquatica's Ihu, best water ride ever when it comes to thrills.
The mammoth I guess will be used as a dark ride.

In any case, very exciting!

Oh, and I hope they will get a behemot bowl also, so like disco h2o in wet n wild but with a volcanic theme!

Damn that's a great lineup, this sound like it'll be a complete water park day one

Honestly, I hope there are not high stair towers. Being inside the volcano where you can't see how high up you are is exactly what I hope for. I've ridden some very tall and insane waterslides (Summit Plummet, Scorpion's Tail), and yet I have extreme fear of heights...and it takes every last ounce of strength to get me up those staircases. Once I'm up though, I'm ready for a great ride! Also, if they build it inside the volcano, they could use ramps instead of stairs, which would make the rides ADA accessible.

As for a Behemoth bowl slide, I see them relocating Disco H2O. i could also seem them moving the Black Hole, Aqua Drag Racer, Brain Wash and possibly the Storm. If Wet N Wild is closing, it just makes sense.

My hallucinogenic visions (ahem) reveal a major kind of uphill conveyor system, on at least two counts.

My visions also see no reuse of old waterpark equipment. I have no idea of their intentions with the wetwild place but closing it upon opening the other seems logical.

Hmmm....very strange. Maybe they plan on keeping Wet N Wild open? Some of their slides are unique to this area and are very worth saving.

As for conveyors being used, I would expect one for the Mammoth water coaster for sure...and maybe for another family raft ride?

My gut feeling is that they'll close wet 'n wild once the new park is build. Probably the reason why they are not moving any slides is because it is too much of a hassle. They want to get everything they can out of wet 'n wild while they are working on the new park, so moving slides would be too messy. They can afford to just buy new ones and then once they close wet 'n wild they can probably sell a lot of the old slides.

This. I also think the old slides may not fit into the themes they are looking to do. They also don't want the image of Wet n Wild to follow them, so moving slides may have that image follow them. They will close wet n wild and probably build some hotels or something else there.

I'd imagine they'll keep Wet N Wild open as long as it keeps making money, which it seems to to. They just invested in a new slide, which seems to indicate they'll keep it open.

Yes. I wouldn't expect Wet'N'Wild to go anywhere any time soon. The two water parks will be aimed at very different audiences.

That and I'm not sure anybody sees wet and wild as "the universal waterpark". It doesn't effect their name whatsoever so why close it?

Yes, as long as they are both making money I wouldn't predict WnW to close for the time being. They could possibly also use it as a perk if there are offsite hotels in the future, or maybe add a 3rd day at the hotel and get complementary passes.

I agree that they will appeal to different audiences, and I think they will pull enough extra demand from the competition (like people staying onsite but going to Aquatica or a Disney water park one day on their trip).

No...Wet N' Wild is definitely more of a local thing where I can see the Universal Waterpark being more of a visitor thing

Yeah what about future resorts using the slides from WetnWild or even making some major changes to the WetnWild property itself and having 2 or 3 on site resorts share parts of the park? Talk about one hell of a way to keep guests on site lol.

Wet N Wild isnt going anywhere anytime soon.
I Drive is foot traffic and Universal knows this.
Wet N Wild does great with locals and is arguably the most exciting Water Park in Orlando
Wet N Wild also pulls in tourist just because many of them Universal Blvd and International drive is sometimes the first intersection they encounter getting off of I-4! You'd be surprised at the amount of people who go pedestrian on International !
It's the first water park ever built!
It's one of only two Water Parks in Orlando ( Fun Spot has yet to build their water expansion and I Don't Consider Coco Key A Water Park)
If they continue to improve it, it can and will survive on International.
That Wet N Wild Parking Lot might be turned into something with height :)

Or, even if they started build today it would still be a while until it was completed. Figure it would be about 2 years from ground breaking to opening for something so elaborately themed.
