Trust me. I've been in lots of hotel pools and never seen that before. It's quite the killjoy. They could figure out another option.

And I'll bet that lots of people have been to the CBBR pool that never saw it happen. Most hotels do not even have a lifeguard, so I doubt you would see any lifeguard drills in those hotels. At pools that do not have a lifeguard there is a sign that puts the liability on the swimmers (or their guardian) who choose to swim "at own risk". It sucks that you let this kill your joy, but it's something that needs to be done. As I said before the only problems are that it should have been announced directly after the fact, and the review should not happen in earshot of guests.

Yes, you make an excellent point that that it should have been announced directly after the fact. It actually happened on two consecutive days when we were at the Royal Pacific. I actually thought it was a prank by some kids until it was brought up on this forum. I kept telling my GF that the lifeguards should have stepped to the people doing that, not realizing it was management doing it. Honestly, I'm a bit old and had never experienced that in all my years of going to pools. I really don't have a problem with them doing that for training purposes. It's makes some sense. But it really should be announced after the fact to avoid confusion among the tourists attending.

I am a pool manager and these drills are exremely important not only for safety reasons but sometimes required by the insurance company. The drills that we use are adressed to the members before or after the drill is done since some people call 911. Also sometimes instead of a dummy we will use a red ball to time the lifeguards response.

I went to Orlando for the day and drove by, and while the construction stuff is down, it seemed empty. So maybe it's open and there's nobody using it on account of the slow season or they may be finishing up a few things on it. Either way, if it's not there yet, it's close. Pictures soon.

Thanks for posting! My word, they planted oaks up there. That might be a horror show in a hurricane.

Well the free BMG tickets and room upgrade are the deal. Notice too it does say starting at $99/night a.k.a. regular price. If you do not like blueberries don't get the blueberry pie.

Go watch it and then make an assumption. You know, instead of whining about something you've only heard about.

Personally, I think it's a great deal.

It's not whining. It's not a good deal for me. I wouldn't go for 3 days in the first place because I have annual passes. I can get a room for $79 for a day or two or even for three. Why would I pay $99 per night for 3 nights if nothing about that show makes me want to see it.

I don't think its a great deal for adding a countdown.

Yes, only deals you want should have a countdown. Or maybe you should quit whining and realize there are other people on Earth that this deal could apply to.

WTF is your problem. Why wont you stop whining about how much my opinion on a discussion forum bothered you. I'm just posting my opinion about the offer.

I just feel like they are being all dramatic for adding a countdown. If it was buy two nights and get one free or something more outrageous then I would see why they would add a countdown.

Thats it, drop it.

Thanks for posting. Goodness I hate flickr as one cannot embed or directly link to anything.

The last picture causes me to ask if Universal owns street sweeping machines. Messy, messy.

@natespf, finished?

For some weird reason I'm excited to use that bridge. When I stayed for HHN, we had to cross the street at midnight and it was a little dangerous. The bridge will also give a great view of the growing attractions and future hotel.
