I sure hope they will be next to one another and won't be another replacement.

The second part I'm not really sure what to make of. Are you saying there are three Mack rides coming altogether?

I don't see ET being replaced but remember, I don't really know anything but those two words spoken of earlier.

Turns out, my math 123 was unsubstantiated. So, never mind.

Mack also built a really cool suspended family coaster/dark ride at Europa Park. Would love to see this kind of thing brought to UOR

Holy crap, that one looks amazing too! At this point, I'm hoping for anything from MACK.

This gave me chills. I used to build these types of coasters on RTC. In and out of buildings. I love the coaster, show, movie, segments of the ride. Awesome

Alright... I always sit back on something good for these tiresome nights. It appears that because of the 4th quarter results, that Comcast decided to throw an additional $70M - $200M immediately at the American parks to make everything from mundane upgrades to prepping for the fun stuff happen now. Now as in NOW! The number I was given was very specific but I have mushed it up quite a bit... shoot for something in the middle to be safe. And remember, this is off budget... as in more money.

To me this reads as Transformers level construction speed in order to get something new in for Dec 2015 to capitalize on the masses. But thats just me throwing stuff and seeing if it sticks. 2015 is yet to unveil its secrets both big and small and that may be attributed to Comcast asking parks to hold off until end of Q4 and EOY results. Once those were finalized and Corporate saw even larger growth then expected they immediately just started throwing money at Creative and Contractors again much like Transformers. In the big picture TF was built to keep guest and AP levels up for FY2013 knowing people may hold off because Diagon was the next year ala WWOHP 2009-2010. So again this is why I think were seeing this but only this time its either just due to business trends or because someone blabbed off during a conference call the other day... Anyways it doesn't really matter why, its just awesome its happening. I've been saying for many moons were witnessing something special and we are, a renaissance if I may.

Last thought, would it be possible to throw extra funds at Kong to increase production to 24 hours a day?? Just a thought???

PS Sorry this written poorly the nyquil is kicking in...

That would be cool. Since the movie is pushed it doesn't really matter. They could push getting the building and surroundings done ASAP but I'm curious if it would be feasible to push up the ride system if it is another first of its kind.

I feel I need to clarify this post a bit. Much of these added funds will be going towards things unseen, things commonly known as infrastructure. Now please do not be let down by this as every attraction at the parks have infrastructure too.

Dragons Challenge and ET are both operating on very old infrastructure, especially electronics and communications. Neither can have major overhauls visually until their infrastructure is completely replaced.

So, ride systems, lighting, sound, communications, even entire park controllers, wiring of the latest tech, all of these fall under park infrastructure that is being replaced, out of sight, and at great expense. To a degree, it is rebuilding everything from scratch and reprogramming from scratch as if it was a year before it originally opened.

I am not even sure if Spider Man's guts were replaced when the new projectors and film were added.

So, I hope this clarification is appreciated. Any questions, feel free to ask and I will attempt to answer.

Although it may not be seen, it will be felt or heard...many of the rides around the park need audio and lighting upgrades...I believe MIB is running, for instance, from a Strand console that no longer exists

Think more abstractly.... it is being done right now, and tomorrow (well not tomorrow as it will be Sunday)... thus you cannot see it, and you never will. Contracts are still going out for bid that haven't yet started or so I have heard. *rolls eyes* But yeah, 24 hours a day depending. How they make the switch over per venue is beyond me.

I suppose in a happy world, it will all be seamless.

Whatever happened to phase three of Potter? I thought they announced it basically during the opening of Diagon Alley?

I believe they (art directors) stated that they had thought about and considered a next phase. Whether or not Comcast and Universal decides it would be financially advantageous is a whole other matter. I am not convinced that decision has been made yet. They have other fish to fry right now.

Yes, they need the pause that refreshes. It's way too early for a phase 3. Time is needed to digest HP2.
