I can't think of anything Universal has done that doesn't relate to an existing IP. I also think creating another park with enclosed animals is probably a very bad idea.

Lost Continent is/was the biggest example at UOR: the original Dueling Dragons, Poseidon's Fury, etc. There's also Disaster and Rockit (yeah, yeah), and their original HHN houses are usually great. There are examples outside UOR too, like Space Fantasy.

Fantastic idea. I vote for PRT as the technology, with stations at each major location, with minor routes to the deluxe resorts. Capacity could be an issue but they could figure that out. It's the next leap from monorails.

If this goes down, I think their first priority will be the new Citywalk right by the convention center and hotels. With the growth of all of these skyplexes and shopping/entertainment districts, I think getting their own up right next to the target audience will be the most important thing. Tie in hotels to it and they double down on the convention crowd. Maybe even build a hotel with convention space. But once they get all that rolling, they can worry about a third park.

Unless they just want to burn through money, hire every construction company south of atlanta and build all three at the same time. lol

I mean, that's what they did with IoA, CityWalk, and the first hotels.

I could see something like this 20 years down the road. Assuming they can gobble up the pockets of land down there that isn't in the deal there is room for 2 parks, parking, a citiwalk, and a few resorts. You can even throw in a few monorail stop along the way for people staying on site and just scan to make sure they have a park ticket so they can stop people for riding it to do non universal stuff. Unless they can unload the monorail off on the city to run.

I don't think 2 more parks is in the question. Only thing I could possibly see is another water park, but even that makes little sense

How would universal stop people that are not going to the parks or staying at a resort from using that monorail. I dont think they can. The city should pay for that construction and just make it accessible to everyone.

I don't think universal will want random people off the street using their monorail. And I don't think they will want their guests forced to use a public transportation system. Maybe make it a pay system but do something happens with parking validation at places. spend money, get your transportation comped?

Y'all are getting way ahead of yourselves. I think buses are way more likely than any sort of monorail transport

Oh I agree completely. I think with right of way and construction costs, I don't think a monorail is likely to ever happen unless they end up owning all of the land between the two areas some day. I was just responding hypothetically about the speculation.

The easy way to do that would be a scanner for your park tickets.

yeah, anyone with a park pass, hotel key, or ap would just scan their card. I was thinking more along with people who wanted to go shopping at citiwalk from one area or the other.

If the main destinations are for CityWalk or the parks, I don't see any reason for the general public to use it. I'd imagine anybody who might use it for free transport will be severely outnumbered by the people visiting the parks or even people travelling from hotels to CityWalk for a bit of shopping or a meal.

Was there not a massive outcry that the city was building a bridge or something for Universal? Universal really need to sweeten the deal for the city and make things as easy as possible for themselves.

There hasn't been anything at UOR in a long time though with the exception of Rockit and unfortunately IPs are far more attractive to make an attraction from.

I think the PRT is a great idea but I'd be concerned that it couldn't handle the volume of people needing to use it.

If Universal gets a third park, I imagine it would just be IOA 2.0. More areas themed off IPs, except probably with a different packaging device then "islands" and/or "adventure". For example, if the main areas end up being based off Fantastic Beasts, Zelda/Pokemon, Universal Monsters, Back to the Future/Jaws, and Lord of the Rings, then it could be time travel themed or something, as all of those (except arguable Pokemon) take place in the past.

Also, out of the blue timeline prediction:
2016 - Universal officially gets the land, land breaking begins.
2017 - Construction fully begins, and ffficial announcement, with only a small amount of information such as IPs, location, etc.
2018-19 - Nothing, besides rampant construction.
2020 - CityWalk District 2 opens, WNW plot's TTC equivalent opens, a few of the new hotels open.
2021 - Park opens.

Why is it that most in here feel offended about a "Themed" Thrill Park in Orlando? Are you all saying that MY CITY is not worth enough to have a Hyper, Strata or Giga coaster? I would like to know how the locals feel about having at least one of these parks here? (and when I say locals, I mean CFL, NOT!! North, South, East, and West Florida or the rest of the 49 states.... you are all Tourist in our eyes). Also would not mind to hear the opinion of the true back bone of our economy, the internationals... like Great Britain, Brazil, and most of Latin America. Sorry but I think we have thrown plenty of pixie dust to the world, I'm ready to have something different.
