One of my biggest complaints about Soarin' is how we just lift off the ground and boom they turn on the screens, its an awful transition into a ride.

What I'd love to see them do here is have physical sets on lifts (rocks, trees, etc.) in front of the screen. Then the projection starts with all of that blended in the foreground.

When the ride system then starts to lift up in parallel with the film projection the physical sets lower out of site aiding to the illusion we are taking flight.

Boom thanks for finally letting us take off Disney =)

Cool. I must have forgotten that post on here. That will be pretty decent capacity, which will be nice for once since the Mine Train and Frozen both have bad capacity. Disney is all over the place with capacity. They fix Dumbo capacity issue, then they create LM which has good capacity. Then they do Mine Train which should have been longer and so capacity is awful, then they put their most popular IP in a small capacity space. Now with AK they seem to be doing everything right for that park. They are really fixing AK in every area they had holes in. Move LK to where it should have always been, adding night time stuff, and adding more rides. Sometimes they look like they totally know what they are doing and other times they look like amateurs and this is the first rodeo.

This is the first park where I'm more excited about the land theme and scenery more than the rides ( I admit its because I still feel relative clones coming, haven't seen enough info to raise excitement)

I cant wait to see how the walkways come out!

Night is going to be very special here.

Hopefully Disney will add a no stroller rule after dark =) Too many wild Pandora animals around.

Rivers of Light will have low capacity for a night time show so there's that.

Here's a couple images I made awhile back. The first one has the approximate boat ride layout in the land. The second has the Kong show building and Small World show building for comparison. Kong in Yellow, SW in blue.

Yes, but the plan is to do 3 in a night. So that should make up for capacity issues with the show.

I am not sure what you are getting at with the show building size. Kong is slow moving with stops, but is 6 minutes long. I imagine this is going to be more around the 4 minute mark, which is a more typical ride length. Small World is also long (painstaking long) and has no stops in it, this will have stops in it. Also, you have ride, but does that include queue, because the two other ones have queues inside those buildings which also have to be factored into the size. A couple people pointed out this will be the shortest boat ride track, but that is offset with the fact that this is the only boat ride in Orlando that will be able to stop and have show "scenes".

Anyway you could do this same type of comparison with Soarin's show building

there is just so much mystery to that river layout it's driving me crazy.

Do either of these attractions have official names yet?

It's like Soarin, but the film is a highlight real of Avatar. Sadly the ride ends almost immediately because highlights of Avatar are difficult to find.

Don't read anything into the building comparison. Someone asked for the small world comparison and I added Kong also. Just an idea of building size and not a pissing contest.

Is LK lion king? And also, very much agree with this. Mine train boggles my mind, especially after nearly cooking to death in line for 2 hours this summer. That ride is so close to being good. And as excited as I am for Frozen (1 of the few) I am not ready for that queue.. even Maelstrom could get backed up.

Yes, LK is Lion King. I want to see Frozen, but I won't wait in line for it. Same with Mine Train, I think it is a good little coaster and when people come off of it I hear some really positive comments. But I won't wait in long lines for it.

The more I see this land the more I get excited for it! I mean I dislike the movie and story itself but the theming here is gonna be top notch.
