I've got an idea: how about they build the Guardians of the Galaxy version of the Tower at either Shanghai Disneyland or Hong Kong Disneyland first, and if its decent then we can talk a retheme of DCA and WDSP, but no matter what I want to see DHS and Disneysea's stay the way they are.

Regardless, those would be purpose-built new attractions. DCA, DHS, WDSP, or TDR would still get a nonsensical overlay.

What are the Japan Marvel rights again? Is it just Spiderman for Universal?

Oh look, WDWNT stealing from Magic and not citing their source. Shocker. All of it is old news.

They could have gotten independent verification. Not everything original comes from WDWM or here.

I'm still hoping that a deal has been made that allows MCU in IOA in exchange for WDW getting GOTG, however I still can't see them overlaying ToT. Given the choice, I'd much rather them see Rock n Roller coaster get that treatment.

Yeah, just because the all knowing spirit says something on Magic doesn't always mean others are stealing info all the time.

It is extremely unlikely universal would allow any marvel characters at WDW. They have exclusivity for the characters they use in any theme park on the east coast AND ANY Marvel characters in a 60 mile radius.

In addition now with Spiderman, nearly all of Marvel Superhero Island encompasses characters from the Avengers in the MCU. Guardians is about to be added to that list. That gives Universal the exclusive rights to the hottest franchise on the market that isn't Star Wars.

They will never give that up, especially when it comes to the issue of brand confusion. Marvel will stay put at Universal, and Universal only.

There's a reason you can't link to WDWNT on Magic. It's not just Spirit they take their info from.

MiceChat is reporting that the Guardians overlay is basically a done deal for California Adventure, but there's nary a mention of it coming to DHS...

Guardians of the Tower to bump Tower of Terror at DisneylandMiceChat

I really, really hope the talk of the Marvel/Universal contract prohibiting any other Marvel attractions within 60 miles of Universal is true, and that Hollywood Studios' Tower is safe from this desecration.

They technically per the contract weren't allowed Big Hero 6 or Starlord and Gamora meet and greets but they still did it. Its whatever Comcast chooses to enforce and what they deem harmful.

In the contract it includes personal appearances within 300 miles, a meet and greet is a personal appearance no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

If the particular character is not used by MCA, such character will not be advertised or promoted by means of (x) spot television buys, billboards, personal appearances, or print advertisements which are (y) viewed, located or primarily directed to persons within 300 miles of Orlando. In other words, regional (i.e. covering a multi-state geographic region) or national television or print media buys, or brochures would not be prohibited within such 300 mile radius

Yeah, they can't advertise using Marvel characters anything located 300 miles around IOA.

And they weren't advertised.

The Meet & Greet was originally advertised as a "Dance Party" that featured no characters. It wasn't until you got there is when you realized what it really was.
