Yep. That's my plan for next week. We arrive on Saturday but will not be hitting the parks until Sunday.
We typically travel to FLA during the end of August due to our kids summer camp schedules and have usually had good success getting to do everything in the parks.
This is our first time staying on site so I think we will have an even easier time of it.

Do kids in Florida go back to school sooner than anyone else? I have never heard of someone starting as early as this coming week in the northeast and even the week after would be considered early.

Kids in the south and Florida generally start earlier than anyone else, but this year (in some Florida areas) it's especially early because they had to start school 2 weeks before the regular date to correlate with state mandated testing and other stuff. Kids in the northeast, on the other hand, don't go back to school until AFTER Labor Day :angry:

I have heard of communities up the east coast starting the first couple of days in August. It gets earlier every year. In some places they have year round schools with longer breaks at spring, winter and a fall break

I have never hear of this apart from some short summer school sessions for kids with specific needs that benefit from them.

In our area, western Pa., it used to be standard that schools didn't go back until the day after Labor Day. But now, most schools are starting back on the third or fourth week of August. Now they have a lot of short breaks throughout the school year.

Houston area. Public elementary/highschool go back next week. University of Houston back on the 24th. Daughter's first year as a part time college student community college isn't starting till the 29th. Basically, it is all over the place. Maybe they try to stagger starts?

A lot of Illinois schools go back next Wednesday. Wisconsin schools can't go back until after Sept 1.

We're heading down Labor Day weekend and staying for 10 days. Hoping AP's get early entry in September since we won't be on site.

The kids get out of school in late May. It is east to go on trips right after they get out of school and not have to deal with crowds because most other people there still in school.

It's the PLAN. IF anyone sees a flustered middle aged woman dragging two teenage girls, one with brand new GREEN hair out of Hogsmeade, that is ME. Seriously you can see my daughter's new dye job miles away.
