Per the typical usage vs mechanical figure, it has to have complex movement and audio. It can't just move an arm up and down. It would have to have an arm move up and down with fingers and elbows bending if you catch my drift.

AA stood for a robot that followed a time code based on smpte. It had to move on queue to follow the audio track or story line. Small World is just a bunch of servo motors spinning at will and every so often hitting the beat by accident. As simple as Tiki room seems, every robot must hit multiple smtpe queues.

An AA doesn't have to make noise. They were originally called "Audio Animatronics" because it used an audio signal recorded to a magnetic tape to trigger the movements. No one builds "AAs" anymore. They are now just animatronics, since a computer triggers the movements.

The difference between a mechanical figure and an animatronic figure is an animatronic figure is programmable.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

They're the extra long buses like Disney uses to transport guests to/from their value resorts, too.

Should help fit as many people as possible on at once.

At the same time, it's not too many people where the entrance/check in TM's won't be swamped by a tram's worth of people trying to get their tapu tapu things.

I hadn't considered pulsing the entrance gates with limited access by the trims.

What's going on with the 1/2 day tickets for this place, or the APs for that matter? It's approaching 2 months from the opening date and still no official word. I remember when Hogsmeade opened up at Universal Hollywood and how they vastly changed how tickets/APs work out there (Didn't they remove free parking for most of them). But I think it was a bit overboard to attempt crowd control, I'm getting that same.

WTF!?! how can we control crowds? vibe from the lack of info on this. I don't have any details on this, but it does seem incredibly odd to me.

The answer to all ticket questions about single day tickets and annual passes is - we don't know. Universal has not made a decision on it yet. But I'm sure we'll find out soon.

I think they've pretty well decided exactly what that pricing will be, but they are watching the presale of multi day/multi park tickets to see if they even have to offer day tickets or annual passes right now. I know a lot of people are booking hotel stays with the three park tickets, and they may fill the park just on those guests. My cousin is coming from Texas the beginning of June and is doing a package like that, and I would guess a lot of other guests are too. Why sell 1 day tickets when you can get people to stay for a week and spend thousands of dollars to experience the new park?

I think this makes most sense. 1 day tickets will be available at some point, just maybe not straight away to help control the crowds.

Fair enough that they tested the queueless system at Wet n Wild but there will always be glitches to be fixed and the last thing Universal want is a huge crowd.
