Before this gets out of hand... Keep it on Rockit talk. Anyone who decides to ignore this warning will get a week ban.

+1 on Brian's post.

Rockit will open when it opens. Till then, stop speculating on BS "sources" and posting about nothing until there is solid information. It's a waste and is rather annoying.

Please do not call The Manager At Louis Pizza a BS "source." That's incredibly disrespectful for how many pizza's she's cooked! They're round just like the non-inverting loop so OBVIOUSLY.

^Wow great connection... I never did see it from that perspective. :yum:

But guys, lets be serious. They weren't going to *just* open the thing without the rings being put up, so why would they open it if the banner isn't up either?!? My guess is that the day they put up the banner, that evening they will soft open the ride to avoid further complaints from the internetz! Either that, or they're just going to wait until Halloween Horror Nights so that they can debut it during one of their peak seasons. :bonk:

I really need to point out how much it amuses me that there are people online who think the banner or rings have *anything* to do with the ride's operation

I love that you went there with your sarcasm. Very nice.

That would be much funnier if it wasn't actually true. :look:

Built into the ride's design and all of that - it's one of the only out there rumors that as solid factual basis. It's not happening for several years though, as the (very accurate) assumption is we want this ride to bring people in - but no one is going to pay $75 to get in when they could pay (random guess figure here) $10 to ride it a few hours later in the evening. Once the ride isn't so new, it's actually a planned intent to sell tickets for it in CityWalk after hours.

To be fair, part of that $30 goes towards the first aid riders require upon exiting.

Lol! I bet you they make Rockit an inconvenient price of like 7.68 or something, just so that you have to ride drunk and with coins in your pocket.

Just to clear up what seems to be either a misunderstanding, someone's lack of any sort of reading comprehension skill, or just selective copy pasting to make other sites look bad, the 'rumor' about soft openings starting on Thursday was not started by that inane post about the manager at Louis' Pizza. It came from the Twitter account of one of the ride's engineers. The initial 'tweet' from last night said:

FYI were scheduled 2 open for employees tomorrow and for guests Thursday-for a VERY soft opening-get ready to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

Followed shortly after by this tweet:

As a reminder this is all subject to change depending on a minute by minute basis depedning on anything that occurs between now and then

He then tweeted again this morning saying:

After a rough night of cycling and inspections-issues have arisen that will delay the opening. Maybe this weekend, more likely next week.

His Twitter account was deleted this morning, presumably because it was posted publicly on the boards and as you can see, caused quite a stir.

Actually, I knew about the Twitter deal. The account was not deleted because he "leaked" information that wasn't supposed to be shared. The information was never even remotely close to being accurate in the first place. I confirmed this fact with The Manager At Louis Pizza. It's true.

Yeah, that was a ripoff. I liked the deal at the Stratosphere much better. What, $20 for unlimited rides? And all three of those rides were extremely BA? So freakin sweet.

It needs to. That coaster sucked and was extremely rough.

Uhm I don't think they will be able to run the ride when the rest of the park is closed but who knows with USf. I mean those fine young thugs need something to do over near city walk.

And why not? Do you think that when the gate shuts, all the power is cut?

I think a reason UO would consider Rockit also as an attraction accessible from CityWalk is aside from an entrance fee, those DVDs you can purchase showing YOU on the coaster would be a pretty cool memento for out of towners with deep pockets.
