I get information and share what I think can be accurate or, at the very least, interesting. Everything I get is at least two levels removed from the actual source.

That's by design though.

You just described every theme park “insider”. Even the best.

I'm not so sure you should be so sure.

Edit: I'm not saying there will definitely be 12 houses, but being "sure" about something regarding Universal these days is a recipe for getting egg on your face

people are saying it´s the 1930s movie called freaks, but i don't think it is. there's hardly any material besides the ending to use. maybe for a silver screams like house maybe, but not a full house.

Just because there aren't a bunch of jumpscares doesn't mean you couldn't make a hell of an atmosphere house out of Freaks.

huh, never thought of that, you have a good point. but if it does happen, probably won´t be that popular to many guests, since i think no one besides horror or classic movie fans would remember the move.

Wait, is Freaks a codeword? Because I was putting "Chicken" (geeks in carnivals used to bite the heads off chickens) together with the Clerks clue, which is a callback to the movie Freaks.

...and the characters chanting "one of us" in the clip are known as "the pin heads". Pretty close to "Pinhead".

My first thought was Hellraiser just based on the quote. heh heh

I'd enjoy either, but would prefer both.

Again, I have to be careful with what I share but from what I am able to discuss we are in the same 10 locations with the same number of houses. Unless we start building more structures or start building houses inside new-never-used locations, you will only see 10. Only way to verify what I am able to say is to say what I do within the event which exposes the source.:lol::lol: And then where would we be?

I'll say this...the codenames are rarely direct references to the IP that they're purposely trying to obfuscate.

I'll use one my favorites from the past few years to demonstrate (especially for the new blood).

-There was a house for 26 with the codename "Captain"

-One's mind may immediately jump to a house around The Stand (from the "Captain Trips" virus), or even The Fog...maybe Exorcist (Captain Howdy)

-It wasn't any of those. The codename was for Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield.

-The original Meyer's mask is infamously made out of a William Shatner mask. Who was on Star Trek...as Captain Kirk.

Now, they're not all like this. Last years tended to be a little lazy (see the previous "Fireball" name for ST), but in general that's how we should be thinking about these.

I would say that keeps the Freaks idea in play.

Is zipping lips a hint? Id imagine it’d be a Netflix property, maybe Bird Box or Hush. It it isn’t Netflix, Quiet Place would definitely be an option.

I’m not even sure why they choose code names anymore. Last year scareactors were assigned to house numbers, not code names. Seems they could just refer to the houses numerically.

I'm sure it's more fun to say "Yeah, Sawdust is doing good" rather than "house 4".

When speaking, writing, and developing an idea, it is easier to associate to a codename than a specific number. The human brain remembers the word association better than the number association.

EDIT: No need to be an insider for this. Basic human psychology is all that is needed.

Not to be a nitpicker but that ("Captain") was the codename for the original Halloween house. Hell Comes To Haddonfield had the codename "Pumpkin", which while it was likely done off of the poster / title screen, could still be confused with general Halloween mythos (or Trick R Treat, which was the first throw out after that name came out I believe).
