I didn’t get to go through the house myself, but I didn’t really like the released videos I saw. To me, I just didn’t like how they set up the various scenes as I thought the design should have been grander overall (walking through the department of the dead, a more impressive big top Beetle, etc), so I am sort of hoping this rumor is true.

I would also be okay with missing TCM as I saw the 2016 version with the lights on, so I don’t know what more they could add to that one from an information/behind the scenes standpoint

Again, it’s all rumors until otherwise stated

This is the reason I want to see Chainsaw Massacre over Beetlejuice on the unmasking tour.

My wife and I were planning on walking over from our hotel across the street (Holiday Inn) on opening night. We were planning on arriving at security at 8pm or so. Do you think it will be nuts getting through security and into the park at that time?

I will be heading there from my house (local) around the same time. I think it’s going to be crazy to park but I think since you’re walking that’ll at least help. I’d still prepare for crazy lines at security, as it can get bad during the daytime too.

edit: can’t speak or spell today apparently lol

I would suggest trying to get there earlier. The first half dozen opening nights getting thru security and then into the park are a huge pain. Also remember that if you are bringing in drinks there is about a 50% chance you will make it through security

You can walk in through the valet entrance to skip main gate security. There's still security of course, but way less crowded.

Am I crazy, or is there no 30$ Scream Early option this year? I saw it on the website like 2 weeks ago...

Thanks, I had forgotten about the valet entrance. That will definitely help.

I will be going to HHN, but during the day we will have our son and grandparents will be coming by to pick him up. Is there a good unofficial spot for pickup that would keep us from having to go through the main security area again?

Think you’ll have to go through security in some capacity, but it might be quicker to have them pick him up at Hard Rock Hotel. It’s only a 2-3 minute walk from the gates of Studios, and that security checkpoint shouldn’t be too busy mid day when you come back in.

I totally forgot about valet, glad @krisjane22 brought it up. That would probably be a good pickup spot too as long as you can get in there. Picking people up in the bus loop can be a huge pain depending on the time.

I’m starting to see people posting that they got an email about their unmasking tour? I haven’t received it personally. Is anybody else in the same boat?

Same, wondering if it's timed based on the tour? Mine is in late October, and I signed up for both.

Mine is Saturday. They may send it when it’s closer since it tells you where to meet and your houses could change based on what’s available that day. (Says subject to change in email but I’m sure days before it’s ok but weeks before maybe not)

Have you seen screenshots confirming the three house line up is Bride, Tooth, and Case?

They told me over the phone that booking both tours would allow you to see 9/10 houses, but I have yet to see a three house line up confirmed

Pretty sure they don’t allow pick up in valet and will ask you to move. They have a pick up spot in one of the garages now since it got crazy at the bus loop.

Thanks for the replies. I just want to make sure I have this right. In attached image red is bus loop which can be a mess and teal is where we could do pick up. I don't have a problem with going through security again but don't want to have to deal with the main city walk entrance security. That tends to be a cluster bleep from my memory. Once a day is enough for me.

The red path in that image is a backstage road, if I'm not mistaken?

I believe the bus loop you're referring to is the one by the main parking garages? That bus loop used to include uber and pickup/drop-off, but a few years ago they changed it to limit congestion. The new pickup/drop off is at one of the parking garages (did my best to show it in the picture below). For that reason, I'd recommend walking to the Hard Rock Hotel (green line below), and having them pick up your son there.

The only caveat is that you'll want to be at the hotel before their car arrives, as the hotel doesn't want tons of cars sitting there waiting for guests.

^ thought it was something for backstage but it was on street view and there was no signage on road with verbiage along authorized vehicles only. Looking further around on street view it is signed off main road for hotel service and deliveries. I will try to work out a quick pickup at hard Rock as it seems easiest. Thanks for all the help
