Testing hours depends on government regulations, manufacturer requirements, and so on. Not to mention with it having new features that can increase testing time. My question is if they get into a time crunch "can" they run 24 hours with those douchbag neighbors?

Little to no chance of 24hr, thanks to the neighbours (Mr and Mrs Roper) like you say.

Bobwadd
Awesome shots. I really love that vertical drop!!! Thanks Roodles

Thanks Bob. The new coaster does't have a vertical drop. That drop I think you mean belongs to Oblivion, the world first dive coaster  The photo is taken from the top of her drop.

Next Big thing
Not really feeling the track color..

The black is a bit dull, but the rest of the rides in the area are black with a splash of colour.

There should be splashes of yellow theming "see gates in station" that hopefully will offset it.

A rumour has surfaced that Alton Towers are looking at a 15th May opening, at this stage this is only a rumour but the source is valid. Time will tell and I am not booking the day off just yet. http://old.towerstimes.co.uk/news/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1363529375&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1,10,11&

I will be on park again Thursday so will bring another update then, hopefully will see quite a bit of progress and should get some idea how likely the rumoured opening date is.

Been on park for a few hours after work today, work is really moving at pace now. Much has been done since the weekend and I saw a support and 2 pieces of track go up in an hour.

Before I post the pics (Sorry only mobile,I for got to put my battery in the DSLR :ashamed:) I have a few bits of info. I can't say where I got it, some of it may be known already and I cannot confirm it 100% true, although I do trust the source. believe it if you wish.

1. We have 2 time lapse videos, 1 on top of Fried Chicken 1 on top of Oblivions Q tower, these can be seen.
2. Track is due to be complete a week on Sunday, 31st March.
3. They are now working nights, minimum noise to be made but electrics, ground work etc is happening deep into the night.
4. The pics of Smiler uniform shown earlier will be the ride staffs uniform. I have pics.
5. The cars will be amazing, couldn't push them any more on this, I tried. It is NOT a euro fighter.
6. The lift hills are ready assembled and ready to go, they are currently in a field approx 8 miles away.
7. The Queue line will be intence and we will have a pre show.
8. As well as the chopped toilet roof mistake, an actual footer was placed wrong. Photo below.
9. Staff rides due to start early May with softs not long after.
10. A full press release is imminent.
11. It was indeed a late edition, SW7 was planned for air car park but B&M not ready.
12 3 reasons for delay
a. weather, and they had to keep pumping out the pit due to burst pipe.
b. Limestone was found at the top end of site and wasnt expected. Took longer to dig out.
c. They hit Blivvys foundations when digging out the pit.

Again A lot of the above may or may not be true and I have read between the lines on a lot of it, So please take it with a pinch of salt if you wish not to believe it.

i agree, reminded me of Ronald McDonald

If the info is true ride cars should be around soon, really want to be on park to see the pull through.

Bad snow in the area again today, so park was closed. Should get back on Sunday to see whats been happening, if anything.

Park today.

Not yet, There are 14 that we know of but I have a feeling there will be one more.

I have been told that track is due to be complete by next weekend (that was before we got all this snow) so will know for sure by then. Once the park is back open I will head over and bring another update.

Agreed I would love to see a trip report. I've followed the park for years and the knowledge you've shared with me is staggering.

The Smiler contruction falls foul of the weather, again! looks like no track has gone up since the last update, hopefully they have been able to carry on inside the station.

Staff are on site today attempting to clear snow. We should know by the end of the day if it will open or not.

The pressing thing is further delays to The Smiler. It's already providing rather a rush to get it ready for May. If this weather keeps up we will have another delay!

Thought Id post this pic, it is part of the Marmaliser theming element. It has LED screens which could be used to show live images of riders.
