I'm one of the few erring on the side of this is a horrible casting.

They actually had Daredevil on TV last night and I watched it for a few minutes just to see, but I don't see it. Yes I know he's become a much better actor since then, but still, clef chin and all won't work for me.

Just outta curiosity, has anyone seen the Rated R version of Daredevil? It still has it flaws, but it's a much better movie.

I have and I agree. I actually think its one of the better pre-Iron Man Marvel films.

The Dark Knight trilogy was one of the best things to happen to DC. This fast of a reboot is obnoxious. Give us something else.

DC doesn't have the luxury of a wide array of interesting characters like Marvel does. The Justice League needs to happen, and this is the only way.

Also, FWIW, when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, it caused the same backlash as we're hearing now, where even Bob Kane questioned it.

Im not disagreeing with you...but that doesnt mean people wont understand the concept of a reboot or the Ben Affleck Batman. And if The Amazing Spider-Man showed us anything, its that people will show up no matter what.

Disagree. The trilogy was fine, and many people loved it, but it's probably the worst thing to happen to DC at this time. It convinced them a dark, foreboding nature was necessary for their properties, which has led to a muddled Superman and what will end up being a muddled Justice League.

Also disagree. DC characters are plenty interesting and fun. DC is just afraid to allow a comic book movie be a comic book movie. And the one time they did in Green Lantern, the script, direction, and star were all awful, so now they're scared to go that route.

Besides the Justice League team members, Capt Marvel, and probably Lobo, what other characters would be interesting...? I also didn't say DC Characters aren't interesting, but they don't have a lot to choose from than those posed in the question.

But really, neither does Marvel. Hell, 7 years ago no one would have pegged Iron Man as the driver behind the highest grossing super hero movie. If you put together a good movie, it doesn't matter.

There are plenty of "out there" DC properties similar to Guardians of the Galaxy. Booster Gold comes to mind. Green Arrow would be great, especially the treatment they had come up for him a few years back. Suicide Squad would be AWESOME. It all comes down to taking risks and the confidence to make a good movie.

Fair point. At the same time though, Marvel didn't really have a choice so to speak. They didn't own the movie rights to their biggest comics, so they could afford the risk with Iron Man.

This is exactly what people were saying when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker and Michael Keaton was cast and Batman. But Ledger ended up as the best Joker/Villain performance ever. And Everyone ended up loving Keaton as Batman. To me judging by Affleck's latest starring work, I'm willing to give him a chance. We already knew Bale was done as Batman so we have to move on. I am going to be positive and trust that he is a good choice to play Batman. He's got a few duds just like almost every other actor out there. But he's also been in a lot of good movies. I believe he will surprise us just like Ledger and Keaton did.

Rumors are picking up heavily now that Cranston will be Luthor for a multi-pic deal.

Different movie, but a related note, Cranston has apparently been cast as Luthor in Man of Steel 2. There's also a rumour that they want Matt Damon as Aquaman for Justice League.

The article definitely seems to be referring to Batman and Superman, just calling it the MoS sequel instead. However, the casting is still not official and there are still people saying he hasnt signed yet.

But the more we learn about this, the less it sounds legit and the more it sounds like a Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel sketch.

I could get behind Cranston playing Luthor at least. But that really seems like the most positive thing I could say about this whole thing so far.

Cranston would make a great Lex. He's menacing enough in Breaking Bad, and if the rumors are true I'll be happy
