As great as the recent Captain America movie was, the third film cannot beat out Batman vs. Superman. Those are the grand daddy of all superheroes. Btw if this movie turns out to be crap, I will be one depressed fan boy.

Well, The last Superman was better than the superman before it, But I personally think it was not as good as it could have been. I thought the first 10 minutes or so was some of the greatest cinematography and storytelling in a super hero film. Then it just got really mediocre by using gimmicky editing to try and make it more emotionally appealing, but failed. Had the film been cut in chronological order it would've been that much better.

The problems with the newest Superman film and the general negative vibe around the casting of Affleck and Eisenberg make me feel like Audiences will jump ship to see the new Captain flick. Also, It's far too soon for a reboot, it will only be 4 years after Nolan's much beloved take on Batman. The studios need to play their cards a bit more cool...

Spider-Man was rebooted in 5 years. I'm not sure if that's a problem. Also, Eisenberg could do a really good job in this role. You've seen The Social Network.

THIS JUST IN:

The title of Superman/Batman is: Superman V Batman - Dawn of Justice. This confirms that this will be the launching pad for JLA

I actually really like the Batsuit. Very Arkham City.

However. That title screams: We don't know what we're doing.

This whole thing is SO forced. A Superman movie and then a movie with Superman/Batman/Lex/Wonder Woman/Nightwing? That's just too much. I realize that they're doing their version of the Dark Knight Returns, but they should've had another Superman film that introduced "Bruce Wayne" and had Lex be the villain. THEN a Batman movie with DKR overtones. THEN a Batman/Superman film, hint at WW.

The title is horrendous. It's way too cute. "Let's drop the 's' in 'vs' and put 'justice' in the title to hint at Justice League." Something along the lines of Superman/Batman: World's Finest would've been MUCH more palatable.

With every announcement this film puts out, it's just more and more obvious this film is a nasty train wreck waiting to happen.

If they were smart, they would've made MOS a trilogy and perhaps introduce a Justice League hero/villian in it here and there. Not to mention put out a Wonder Woman film and a couple others before getting to a Justice League film.

After all, Marvel hit the jackpot with gradually introducing the main heroes with their own films to smoothly build into a big ensamble film like the Avengers. This is something you just can't rush.

But DC on the other hand. MOS - Introduce new Superman, BvS:DoJ - Introduce a new Batman and Alfred and Lex and Wonder Woman and Cyborg AND Aquaman. All of this will lead straight into the Justice League film which is being filmed back to back with BvS:DoJ.

That is just too much to introduce in one film, and look as just some of the extra issues here with trying to force in the Justice League. If they really try to push the Justice League in this film, then it takes away the focus that this is "Batman vs Superman". However if they don't focus enough on the Justice League, then they got jack diddly going into the Justice League film right afterwards.

There's many other issues as well, but mainly there's a ton of directions this can screw up badly plot-wise alone, and the films are just not in the right hands.

Not sure what to think of the robotic Batman voice, otherwise it's a nice teaser.

I think it's robotic because he's in the Armor Suit. Hopefully it only exists in that costume, not the regular one.

I did not like Man of Steel and will have to see more before I'm sold on seeing this in theaters.

It's too dark. Too serious.

Obviously there will be a little humor (though Man of Steel was virtually devoid of it), but my issue is that the movie doesn't look remotely fun. Visually? Bad ass. Tone? Meh.

Maybe Man of Steel tainted my view since I thought that movie's trailers made it look incredible.

Yes. This feels very much like the tone LEGO Batman was riffing on in the LEGO Movie

If Batman was the main focus I wouldn't mind the dark tone, but insiders are saying it's more focused on Superman. DC/WB needs to understand Superman is not a dark hero. At least The Flash will be lighter.

Batman really isn't a "dark" hero either. There's just an annoying vocal fanbase that thinks the only acceptable portrayal of him is the Frank Miller version.

IMO the best adaptation of Batman is still the animated series one. That balances the serious with the fun in a perfect manner.

The only good thing about the first movie were the Kevin Costner scenes. I was very let down. So my expectations for this one are tempered.
