Don't watch the musical then, lolBJ having less screen time is honestly a good thing heading in.
My biggest, biggest point of contention going into the sequel is how they handle the character. Beetlejuice is a truly heinous, scheming, dirty pest of an afterlife entity. Since the original film he's obviously morphed into a cultural phenomenon and pop icon. Very curious if he'll maintain that sharp edge he had in the original film of if he's dulled to the point where he's a more sanitized, friendly, de-fanged version of himself. Note that I haven't watched any trailers so if there's any indication one way or another in them I haven't been privy to them!
Don't watch the musical then, lol
I did enjoy the musical but for sure that was written where he wasn't as much a villain
Tim Burton has stated Beetlejuice has not been tainted by today's PC filters. He's the same as he was in the original
....with a hint of the cartoon hijinks
No. Not at all. The first time Beetlejuice meets Lydia in the cartoon, he makes a reference to chainsawing her parents.See but having a hint of cartoon hijinx could mean a pretty substantially different character.
Probably because there was no chance in hell we were getting a 3rd movie lol.. At the same time, I kinda wanted more. The movie is overstuffed
Her plot line is something they could have cut from the movie completely and honestly it would have made the movie better. She really didn’t add anything and was often on her own away from the main cast anyway. It's really nice to not hate a new Burton movie for once.
This might be his grossest movie ever? Feels a little like an old punk trying to prove he's still got it but by God, maybe Burton's still got it.
The story sucks but whatever. The Monica Belluci plot feels like an obnoxious artifact from an earlier, more boring pitch. You can feel the fanboy-sweatiness coming off of it: "what if the alluded-to wife from the first movie was the new villain?" But they kinda just forget about it, which is funny.
I did like the lame boyfriend character!I actually liked her character... a lot more than the lame "boyfriend" of Lydia.
Although I believe that if she tried the soul sucking power on Beetlejuice, it wouldn't work.
Eaten by a Sandworm!Just because he getssent straight to hell
