It's slightly too crammed full of characters but when they're crafted with such odd reverence and collide and spin off each other in such a nonsensical, chaotic setting it somehow manages to work out pretty damn well. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is surprisingly funny, has a tremendous cast and really nails the feeling and tone of some of Burton's best work, including the original film. It's bonkers and off the wall at times, actually frightening at others and I really do buy into the idea that he actually felt a passion to return to these characters and this world.

It's absolutely wonderful how practical and real this film feels, like to an astounding level in 2024. Outside of one or two moments and some added 'touch up' esque splatter moments, I can watch this and believe it was made 4-5 years after the first, not nearly 20! It's not ever really as perfect as the original but as a next step into exploring this fascinatingly macabre version of the afterlife, it's a damn blast.

Baby Beetlejuice is just a thing of absolute gold. Reminds me so much of Baby Selwyn from Braindead. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is full of so many weird off shoots from the Mario Bava homage to the stop motion scenes, it's chock full of manic BJ energy.

My BF and I expected to be disappointed, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much we absolutely loved it. Since it’s having multiple showings we were in a smaller theatre, albeit full and that was a PERFECT setting for this film. Crowd was engaged which always helps but kinda works better for this film than anything I’ve seen lately.

For anyone unsure heading it it’s absolutely a great time!

Echoing everyone else's thoughts that the film was overstuffed and could've done without some of the characters/storylines - but it was so damn fun; especially Keaton and O'Hara.

Her plot line is something they could have cut from the movie completely and honestly it would have made the movie better. She really didn’t add anything and was often on her own away from the main cast anyway.

On paper, yes, you could easily remove her without affecting much (then you're probably losing Willem Dafoe, too).

On the other hand, no movie is improved by less Monica Bellucci. I wish the movie gave her a little more to do in terms of interacting with the primary cast.

I just don't need to see this film again

I didn't find it funny, have really interesting to say

I will say the costumes, settings and what not were well done but...yeah no one is going to be singing this songs like the OG songs. Not saying they are bad songs but the humor the first time was we didn't know it happen and in this film happened a few times so...haha?

I feel like Devito and William Defoe are wasted here and the main villain does nothing and doesn't say more then two words to the main cast....so literally pointless

God, I hope the Wild Robot is good....feels like forever since I saw a new film I loved. I'm also not again good sequels, Blade Runner, Dr Sleep and so on show it can be done.

I take that back..... I take it back.... she did not need to be in this at all. there was another character that could have taken her plot

I liked this movie a lot. loved every single scene with bettlejuice. I loved the main plot.
but I really really hated some of the other subplots. there was a lot of unnecessary stuff. I loved Winona and Jenna. the main story was pretty interesting, excellent plot for Winona. excellent character development from the first. good, but the sub plots I hate them.

if I watch this again I would be skipping some scenes

Having just seen it last night, I think the last 15 minutes is where it crumbles under the weight of juggling the multiple plots.

The film is building up his ex-wife all the way until the end, and then she gets taken out rather pathetically easily. And it features another wedding between the same two characters as the first film which also ends with a sandworm crashing onto the scene. Followed up by a deus ex machina loophole to resolve everything.

I still liked the film, and would recommend it, especially to those who loved the first. But yeah, that ending is where it really falls apart…

yeah the ending is truly really terrible. it was awful, it's really is bad.

I understand the complaint but I feel like you're taking the ending to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice a little too seriously.

It's a long awaited sequel to a completely inane, over the top ride through the afterlife with bizarre characters, I'm fine with it not having some great, tense, climactic ending when everything up to it is such candy for the eyes.

I feel like this film is perfect for film students to see why its best to make a ending before filming. Literally two characters in this film don't do anything to the plot, there for they don't need to be there its film making 101.

Also even the start of the film makes no sense, so Beetlejuice can make people see him....but waits 30 years to do this? Would have made way more sense if his Ex wife came back forcing Beetlejuice to make a deal or use dark magic to try to come back.....also without the convenience of the daughter making a deal with the dead guy....Beetlejuice would have zero power, nothing to force her to marry him.

Cool if people like it but the story is a mess and not well thought out

The first film was lightening in a bottle, its a fun wacky time this film tries to do the same but the plot holds it back. When you have characters that bring nothing to the plot, its fine to say this sucks

I'm pretty sure you don't like the RE films but have you tried turning your brain off? See? That's why I dislike this excuse

the movie is building up like a pressure cooker and all storylines are merging into one ending, the movie and all it's characters are reaching the conclusion, and the conclusion was very very really bad. it didn't make much sense to end the narrative that way.

but the rest of the movie was really good ( Except for his wife)
the rest of the movie was great, the scenes on the underworld were great. I LOVED Bob. bob was really sweet. Jenna and Winona were great.
the ending just wasn't satisfactory.
( someone could argue that the ending is a callback and a homage to the first movie, like George said of star wars, it rhymes )
personally I wish that it ended a little better.

the wife stuff really needed to be cut completely. it wasn't needed
if they needed to give motivation to Beetlejuice, it could have been given by the other character following him.

that's kind of advice to enjoy borderlands lol. borderlands wasn't even that bad if you just don't pay attention to plot. borderlands wasn't that bad visually. ( borderlands also had a terrible ending.

yes I agree. this could have been horrible. it definitely wasn't. 80% of it was really great.
it was charming. funny, it kept the feeling of the first.

I'm glad that it exists, I'm glad it got made. I'm glad everyone came back. I'm glad they used Bob more I love him.
everything worked for the most part. I loved all the jokes. made me laugh.


the ending and the Monica stuff was just a little disappointed. it was just a little disappointed by the end, I wish she had a better part . but yeah I agree. it was pretty nice
