If it is like others, the river will be littered with tubes by the end of the day from people leaving them. When I was at the Rosen near Downtown Disney (I think), people would ask you if you wanted their tube once they were done with them.

I know there is sand around the area, not sure where it starts/stops though

What happened to the plan to make a lazy river that was not lazy? Didn't they hint at waterfalls and stuff? Did those plans change?

There are a couple waterfalls and squirt cannons but no caves. Water flow speed is slightly faster than "lazy".

Oh, so the empty hollow in the rockwork must be a waterfall that has not yet been turned on?

Reposting the concept art for the garden bridges. Note that the three largest trees on the bridge are over the bridge support columns... those are going to be large hidden (or not) concrete containers.

Universal just posted a 50% sale for Cabana Bay for annual passholders, but when looking at the rates, it is far from 50%.

Stayed at the hotel over the weekend (for one night). We were expecting a bigger lazy river and had heard mixed things about tube rentals so we never looked into getting one. After seeing the cheapest at $3, we probably would have. We stayed on the second floor of Americana and we were just a short walk from the elevator to take us down to the Bayliner.

We had a sandwich Friday night before BMG- one of the prepackaged ones. We were both happy with it. In the morning, we each had our own omelette and we shared some french toast. Omelettes were really good, french toast could've been better.

Any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Thanks April! What type of room did you stay in and how was your view? Were buses packed at certain hours or was it well distributed? Did you do early morning park entry and, if so how were the crowds? Did the common ares (pools, bowling, eateries) seem crowded? Thanks for the offer to answer questions, I'm staying there 7/18

April, you probably saw BMG with us. I went over I cabana bay Friday night to check it out. Beautiful hotel with lots of fun, small touches you don't find in other 'value' resorts. Only issue I have is with the possibly poor aging some of the materials chosen might have. White walls and ceilings, white flooring, etc.

We stayed in a standard room. We had a view of the parking lot, but could see the parks off in the distance. Since I'm in the area, it was just a one night stay and we didn't really hit the bus until around 5pm or so. The buses were slammed after our 6pm BMG got out but we didn't have to wait long for a bus. It was nice that they came back to back.

I did not feel that the pool was busy at all - we were there early to mid afternoon. Bowling alley we checked out fairly early in the day but I imagine it filled up later on as well. Breakfast was the only time it seemed really busy @ Cabana but there was still plenty of seating.

Thinking about booking at Cabana Fri the 11th the way home from St. Augustine and mainly check out Diagon Alley. Just curious to see how slammed it might be. My friend and I went to WWOHP a week after Grand opening and it wasn't too bad. Got to wait only 1.5 hrs to ride FJ, not 4-5 as feared.

Does anyone know when the "garden walkway" from CBBR to CityWalk will be completed? Thanks!

Btw, when I was checking in here a few days, I was eyeballing a sheet they had lying around that really had a LOT of info on it...including the hotel's occupancy rates for this week. It's doing great, ranging from 94-98% on the weekends and fluctuating between 80% and higher during weekdays. Not bad at all for a brand new hotel.
