The Diner did shout 'All-Star' to me when I first saw it; I think I prefer the 'white + accent' thing they have going on everywhere else in the rest of the resort to be honest. I'm sure it looks better in the flesh though, the actual finish quality makes the critical difference in a style like this and I have the confidence in them to say it probably looks fine close-up.

As far as Disney prices go maybe. The All-Stars/Pop are more expensive than the luxurious/upscale Waldorf Astoria in Bonnet Creek, which is an outrage in itself.

I completely agree with you there. I've paid $129 for Hyatt Regency and $100 for Rosen Shingle Creek. Those are both 4 stars as opposed to All-Stars whopping two.

I don't mind the All-Stars that much. They're obviously my least favorite but the new Art of Animation is something else. I do like the All-Star-vibe of Cabana Bay as I have some good memories of staying at the values.

There's not much all-star vibe to Cabana Bay. The all-stars aren't actually themed. They are motels that are decorated with giant garish, gaudy props. There isn't a macro theme. Cabana Bay is themed. It conceptually is closer to a Disney moderate like POFQ.

I think I mean the motel style with the cafeteria-like food court, etc. Closer to retro Pop Century in "theming," but obviously on a whole other level.

Speaking of Cabana Bay Beach Resort I actually live right across from it from Wallace Road in Toscana so it's pretty neat that I could just walk to Universal and Cabana Bay which I know traffic will get worse by the time Phase II opens but My Dad's Company is the one that Built the Parking Garage for Cabana Bay at Universal and the Team Member Parking Garage.

Interesting (to me) that I just noticed that Cabana Bay charges hotel guest $10 for parking compared to $18 at the other resorts.

I really dig the pricing here. I was looking at rates for when we hope to go for HHN's, the price drops as you stay more nights....adding a 4th night drops the price around $20 a night compared to a three night stay (I was looking at non-family suit rooms).

Well, it looks like they're finally including CBBR on the map of the resort- like not just the land it'll be on, but the resort itself is now shown as well.

I personally think parking should be free, but I know that Orlando isn't really about that...

I think that's a mistake with this hotel especially. It's obviously a better hotel than Disney's Value hotels and offers better amenities than their Moderates, but the parking charge may turn some off. I suspect that is a Loews policy though.

While I agree, even with the parking it's cheaper than the Disney values and moderates.

I agree as well, but I figured they would charge the same for parking here. I was pleased to learn parking is $8 cheaper at Cabana Bay....but I get it that it still sucks that you need to pay to park. I guess it could be an incentive for folks flying in to just take a shuttle to the resort and they be captive for their stay while saving $$

Big time! We went to HHN the past two years and stayed off site, close by, but still not giving UNI/Loews that $. This year, it really looks like we will be able to stay on site, enjoy the pools/lazy river some during the day...but yeah, it is hard to believe Disney's values cost more than staying here as the pictures make this resort look like a better value...and even with parking, the rates look to be lower than rack rates at WDW's value resorts.

Noticed they were out putting up the silt fence along the south side of Hollywood Way Saturday mornings, presumably for the new walkway construction
