I’m itching to see those fountains turn on. It looks like it’ll be the real make-or-break for me on Celestial Park.

I'm a huge fountain fan so I'm super excited to see what they do with them.

I'm waiting to see if the all of the fountains will do something during the show park-wide. The main show would still be part of the large pool near Helios but I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the park has something going on around the same time.

Here's hoping Bio catches some fountain testing in the next few months!

It’ll be a huge bummer if the fountains aren’t always on in some capacity. I do think that’s a hard task to pull off, but the front half of Celestial Park looks like it really relies on the fountains’ energy.

I expect them to be on all the time or frequently enough to be entertaining to guests riding the carousel at the very least. Some ambient music to go along with it would be cool.

At SeaWorld sometime ago I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the fountains did something every hour or so? I don't think they do it anymore.

I love Celestial Park and the one addition that would put it over the top would be an old school, charming turn-of-the-century amusement park vibe dark ride. Something on the scale of a Disney Fantasyland ride...or maybe somewhere between that and Mystic Manor. It would reveal the mysterious backstory behind the land.

Celestial Park has a LOT of influences from Luna Park at Coney Island NY circa 1903-ish. One of the more popular rides was known as a "Tunnel of Love", but was actually named "The Old Mill". It was a slow moving boat ride through show scenes.

Yes, one of these, please.

Footnote: Many parks built their own version of "The Old Mill", but one of the best ones, and one that Walt Disney rode when doing research for his new amusement park back in the '50s was at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh.

I had the great fortune to ride it in the late '70s and '80s before it was tragically "rethemed" to "Garfield's Nightmare".

That brings back memories of a slow boat ride in Kings Island in Cincinnati Ohio. It was back in the 70’s as well. The theme was to Saturday morning cartoons. It had a catchy little song as well. I don’t remember the name of the ride though.

It'll be interesting to see if we ever get an expansion to Celestial Park with something like that. I know some plots are dedicated to expanding existing lands or adding new ones but plans can change and shaving off a smaller piece for a dark ride still leaves space for other expansions.

I think we'll learn more about CP's lore in the fountain show. I could see it incorporating the IPs of the other lands but how they came to exist here would be told through the show.

I do! The Enchanted Voyage, which featured a menagerie of Hanna-Barbara cartoons. It was replaced a decade later by the Smurfs Enchanted Voyage, which followed the little blue guys through each of the seasons. The boat ride system was abandoned entirely a decade after that, when a shockingly well done Haunted Mansion ripoff called Phantom Theater (complete with a janky xerox of the Omnimover Doombuggies) moved in. That ride became a Sally Corp Scooby-Doo shooter another decade later, and eventually, all the IP was scrubbed away, so now we're left with a generic Boo Blasters ride.

Kennywood finally realized how bad that Garfield adaptation was (maybe worst dark ride ever) and has recently rethemed it back to an Old Mill version. And, the 'Lost Kennywood' expansion is a fairly accurate version of the short lived 'Luna Park' that existed at the Oakland section of Pittsburgh at the same time as Coney Islands Luna Park.

I was intrigued by this Bioreconstruct image of the plaza outside the Atlantic restaurant because the curbing appears unbroken along the entire perimeter. This surprised me because if they are planning an event venue in that expansion pad beyond this plaza, it would seem a walkway from the venue would connect at this point to the park.

Now of course they can cut a gap in the curb when that project happens but if it was imminent or somewhat of a certainty in the master-plan, it would seem like the location of the future access would be evident.

(Having said all that, I would rather have the above discussed Legend of Celestial Park dark ride in that spot instead of an event venue when they do get to using that land!)

Modifying the curb if/when they build the venue is simple.

How will these Celestial fountains compare to the fountains at Bellagio? I'm not expecting fountains on that level but do you think they will be slightly comparable?

Likely not as powerful, but the Bellagio fountains aren’t always-on, so I imagine there’s a difference in upkeep.

The Wynn used to have always-on fountains with movement and color, but I haven’t seen them on in a long while now. I imagine they’d be closer to those.

All of the teal color is giving me Sea World vibes. I wish the roofs had been a deep dark green or deep bronze color.....maybe a fade in the Florida sun issue?

Keep in mind the color may seem more dominant in the images than it actually will be once you're on the ground. For months we've been looking at all these roofs from above.

The architecture and teal color reminds me heavily of Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. I do adore Lincoln Park Zoo but I am admittedly skeptical of how Celestial or theme parky it will feel.

It just seems like with a lot of the other stuff we are seeing architecturally and theming wise....deeper and darker greens, blues and bronzes might have worked better.....but again the fading in the sun thing may have been a factor.
