I noticed that too, that would be pretty cool if they did end up make it look like a cheetah's face. As long is it doesnt look cheesey.

If rumors hold true, it would be interesting to see how guests interact with the wildlife during the ride instead of before like Manta. I really, really love the direction that the Buschstone parks are taking, where we almost take on the embodiment of animals. We saw the glimpse of it with SheiKra, which is based on the Shikra bird, which dives for its prey, hence the dive coaster. Then Manta came along and gave guests the ability to glide like a ray. Now Cheetaka lets us prowl like a cheetah. It's going to be awesome. And need I mention, Florida FINALLY gets an Intamin!

Oh, and just in case you haven't been keeping track:
2009 - Sea World opens Manta, Universal opens Rockit
2010 - Universal opens Wizarding World of Harry Potter
2011 - Busch Gardens opens Cheetaka, Legoland Florida opens
2012 - Disney opens Fantasyland Expansion

It's a good time to be a theme park nerd.

Am I the only one not all that impressed? It could be a fun coaster but....the queue and entrance shots...meh. I have not seen anything neet exhibit wise out of it yet and the entrance and queue is not so much a facade as just the current skyride/old monorail station with tribal twig groupings all over.

As long as the coaster delivers were good! A ride can have an amazing queue and cutting edge theming but if it has a lackluster coaster its just blah....Expedition Everest anyone.

I don't think we should be judging this coaster by its queue just yet, lol. It would be nice for them to have made a new building, with an indoor queue, but in times like these I am sure they saved a lot of money by reusing this building. I really don't see how this ride is NOT going to deliver. It won't be breaking any speed or height records, but with all the elements together it is going to make for an amazing attraction.

New update today: http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt9.9.10

2011 construction is picking up a bit with the addition of some rebar down in the first trench and cinder blocks are on site for what looks to be walls. Also, the pathway from EOA to Nairobi is closed due to "construction."

I have no doubt that Busch will deliver a great ride.
I don't see anything wrong with using the existing half of the building that had no real purpose anymore. Save the space for something else.

That and save the budget for the longest coaster in the southeast, well second longest!

I'm still not getting what kind of coaster this is. What am I missing? Is there another Intamin we can compare it to?

^ We're not 100% sure yet, either Blitz or Accelerator with inversions.

I think it won't be exactly like anything else they've done, but for now, I'd say the closest comparison is Maverick.

The Intimidator at Carowinds is the current longest in the southeast at 5316 FT.

The top 5 are

Intimidator 5316
Expedition Everest 4424
Kraken 4177
Goliath 4480
Montu 3983

I am just guessing this coaster is between 4700-5100 ft in length, no inside info just guessing.

we havent seen anything from the queue but the facade, which is pretty amazing, i hope we get a new main entrance to the park!

Yesss!!! It looks like the track is gonna be black, I think that will stand out to the other bright colored coasters. And it looks like Intamin is using the 4-rail track instead of the new double spine on Intimidator 305, and Formula Rossa. This ride is gonna be great

Busch Gardens updated the teaser site with new videos we can unlock. http://www.buschgardens.com/bgt/buschgardens2011.aspx
