Or a new lamp post pad...
It is going to be fun watching this one go up.
Can't wait for the sky ride to come back.

lol, it could be! A five thousand pound lamppost

I guess this will be the first launched and the first large Intamin for the Busc -- err, Blackstone parks (excluding Uni of course). Pretty exciting, because Central Florida has plenty of launched coasters but not a single Intamin coaster in the area.

Is there even an Intamin coaster within the entire Southeastern US? Why its taken so long to come to Florida is just beyond me.:bang:

Now that you mention it, the nearest one is at Six Flags Over Texas (according to RCDB), and it's a bobsled coaster!

No idea why it took so long. The only Intamin multi-rail that I've been on is California Screamin', which is a great coaster. This sounds like it's going to be a great addition, like BGT's version of Manta.

While riding the tram this morning, the announcer said that the new coaster would be going up to speeds of 100 mph. He also said the old Clydesdales building would be torn down soon. I don't know how verifiable that information is, so who knows?

I don't know how fast it is going to be, but I am pretty certain it won't be near 100mph. They aren't tearing down the old Clydesdale building, it will serve a new purpose though. Also this ride won't be the tallest in the park.

Yeah, I assumed the guy might be a tad off. He was older, so I figured maybe he had some misconstrued version of a true statement.

I just found this on another forum (about the coaster):

Actually, the ride has a vertical tower after the second launch. If memory serves, I believe I was told that it's somewhere around 160' feet, but that could be off.

Similar to the Intamin accelerator coasters - vertical track straight up. At the top, though, is a weird figure-8 helix before dropping, and I do believe that drop is beyond vertical.

Whoa, what? With that description, it kind of sounds like a launched Fahrenheit. Vertical up, beyond vertical drop certainly describes the tower on Fahrenheit. I wonder if this "figure-8" is a Norwegian loop?

I had heard something about BGT borrowing a Millenium Flyer from Hershey Park earlier this year before there season started. Wouldn't surprise me if they took interest in Fahrenheit and Stormrunner some time ago and have been in contact with Intamin about meshing the two together.

And I am calling it now, on the new walkway from Edge of Africa to Nairobi the loop will take place here. Oh and I am probably really wrong on this but its fun to guess.

They are calling that section the "over/under". There will be a fairly large corkscrew that goes over the path on it's way back to the station, the coaster will just be going under the bridge and through the trench on it's way out towards Rhino Rally. There is definitely going to be a launch into a tower, don't look for the track to go vertical though, it will be more like a large airtime hill, then going into the figure 8 element, which is no longer a secret either.

So a little Intamin confirmation to start the weekend is never a bad thing right?

New video has been released: http://www.buschgardens.com/bgt/buschgardens2011.aspx

Nothing special in the video really. Basically a rehash of everything that they've already said. I did notice a few choice words and quotes though such as "will launch soon" and "0 to 60". Definitely hinting at the launches that we've seen in the leaks.

I like the way they are teasing with the construction/layout papers in front of the camera<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
And there’s a lovely cameo appearance of Nick (PR Seaworld parks & Advenure)
