 :drool5: Those trains look so awesome! Busch Gardens gives the best updates, unlike some, they actually care that people love to see these kinds of things.

The trains look really cool. But those pieces that stick out of the headrests make me worry about restricted movement and headbanging...

I like the look.

Is it me or do the trains kinda look like kumba trains?

They definitely look a lot like smaller Kumba Trains. Between the shaped front (that is sort of resembling the Cheetah face) and the curves of the following cars and color my mind totally went right to Kumba as soon as I saw them.

Now what I am worried about, are the restraints. I don't often hear good things about Intimin restraints, and I am large guy.

I thought they were going to have the 305 shoulder restraints. Cause ^those are not particularly comfortable.

About the restraints, although they look like Maverick and other Intamin's, they are new restraints that have never been used on any ride before. Mark Rose said this during the tour, and Busch's Facebook page said it.

Well they look like they could easily box my ears to a bloody pulp. I guess it depends how useful those curved head rests are, though.

I wish they'd add the restraints from Blue Fire.

I really hope the queue is detailed as much as Cheetah Run, do you guys think it will be open like it is now or do you think they'll add walls and make it more enclosed?

From Mike T at RCProCommunity:

I wouldn't be too worried about the restraints kids. Although they look pretty typical for IntaRide they're actually prototype devices that integrate the ruggedness of the stiff restraint with the comfort of the I305 straps. The materials in the neck portion are supposedly made of a silicone material - akin to what you'd find in an artificial breast implant. Remember the attraction has to accommodate a 48 inch height requirement and in order to do so the manufacturer had to make significant adjustments to meet this threshold.

EDIT: Kraken&Manta beat me to it last page.

At least they'll stay firm for a long while.

But the vehicles are simply orgasmic and nothing else can describe them but that.

The ride may have a few problems. From Screamscape:

(3/2/11) The big rumor coming in from several contacts and sources over the past 24 hours is that a couple of big issues have come up with Cheetah Hunt. First of all, several people are saying that the work in “Trench 2” has hit a snag as the digging down there may be having a problem with water seeping into the trench that has to be addressed. (It’s hard to dig too deep in Florida before you hit the water table you know…)

The second and larger issue of note has to do with that “leap” over the Skyride. The big rumor going around this week is that a serious miscalculation was made here and that there is going to be clearance issues between Cheetah Hunt and the SkyRide. I attempted to get a statement about this rumor from Busch Gardens Tampa today, but as of this writing, they have not gotten back in touch with me with a comment.

Having said that, one has to wonder where the error was made. Did the surveyors make the mistake long before the construction started, or did an error come from Stengle’s layout calculations, the track fabricators or even Intamin itself? We can’t just point the finger at Intamin here and say, “Look, another Maverick” as there really are simply too many piece of the puzzle right now to know where the fault came from.

In the end, it sounds like either the coaster is going to have to be altered or the SkyRide itself. Don’t think that it would be simply to try and “shorten” the SkyRide towers however, as there is a lot more involved than that. They would have to get a new shorter cable for the ride, and then likely have to adjust the whole counter-weight system that maintains the tension on the cable at all times. If they used the same old counter-weight, it would likely put too much tension on the cable and could damage or even snap it.

Of course manufacturing new track for a higher jump over the SkyRide may not be a viable solution either if the coaster’s layout does not allow for the train to have enough velocity to achieve the higher jump at that point in the ride. In this case, they could be forced to return to the original idea, as seen in the animation, where the track simply goes under the SkyRide once again.

In the end, I’m really hoping the rumors are wrong here and that we’ll see Cheetah Hunt open as promised for Memorial Day Weekend. More as I find out…

No no no why why why
This isn't happening because if that clearance is a problem, the whole segment is, too, and the whole opening date is, too.

The water table issue shouldn't be a huge issue. If there was an issue with the skyride I bet the problem came from the surveyors who took there calculations while the sky-ride was in use and the cable was lower than it is now. As far as an opening is concerned Mark said he has all the pieces he needs to complete the ride on time. He also stated he was able to have the entire ride system for the simulator building done and open in less than 90 days. IMO there is an issue since the track should of been done a few days ago but I stll think Mark Rose and company will have this open by Memorial Day. I mean remember how quickly Intamin fabricated new track for Maverick. For those who don't it delayed only 14 days.
