Triceratops, sure. Raptor, not so much. If no one watched Jurassic Park, they'd have no idea what a Raptor probably looked like.
I'm pretty sure if you held up a picture of an Allosaurus to the common guest, they would guess it was a T-Rex. Just because it's common knowledge to you, doesn't mean it's common knowledge to all. It would be safe to assume that most people could care less about dinosaurs, they just want them to look cool and terrify you.
I agree with Jake though, a lot of these quotes have been very nitpicky. We know most of the theme park ins and outs because we are part of an online theme park community. Not many people spend their free time catching up on all the latest news and rumors. When sharing quotes, just take a step outside of the box and try to see if the story you sharing is really "stupid" or just a person with little "in the know" knowledge.
For example, a father is walking with his daughter past the Mexico pavilion in Epcot. Father asks daughter, "Do you know what language they speak in Mexico?". Little girl nods her head, no. Father responds "They speak Mexican."
