Really didn't want this to become a Marvel thread :p

I do think they'll consider putting Avatar in the Simba Lot just because it would be inconvenient to reconfigure the Hollywood Backlot for anything more than a miniland. There's not as much space back there as people think and the concept art suggest much grander plans.

The only issue with that is we are then 6+years away from that then

DCA will hopefully do something with Hollywood land and the area because DCA needs some new attractions sooner then later.

D23 is also where I expect Disney will show off the MCU slate of movies and D+ series post Secret Wars.
I would be very surprised if we get anything definitive for movies beyond 2027 (still three years away) other than perhaps a hard date for the first new X-MEN movie.

I expect titles to be announced for the already claimed remaining release dates in 2026 and 2027 (the movies between and on either side of DOOMSDAY and SECRET WARS).

TBA was almost 4 years from announcement to opening at WDW, and 4 years and counting for DL. I’m having a hard time seeing a proper Avatar land in Anaheim before 2029-30, especially considering the long timeline the movies are on.

I keep coming back to a gut feeling that they’re going to pull the same blue sky schtick for anything domestically beyond AK at WDW except for maybe a night parade (because they desperately need something to market next year) and the Avengers E-ticket for DCA. And the Reflections do-over. The 60 billion figure is approaching a year old - the narrative (aka, Wall Street acceptance) around that may change if the quarterly results announced this week are as rough as Comcast’s. I just feel like they’re going to try to thread the needle of looking like they have grand plans without actually committing to that grand of plans.

I agree. Disney promises and brags a lot, but bottom line, they're slaves to their investors' whims, and stuff gets cancelled if the quarterly reports are bleak.

The one thing I'm looking forward come Saturday is if the Disney mindset has shifted from the past few years of getting away with doing the absolute bare minimum. All signs say that Disney is ready for major investment, but we shall if that is true.

I mean would loveeee to be surprised but at least Disneyland is losing its a parade and I hear WOC will also be going on a short break starting next month

So I have little faith in the near future unless they are just holding back at for D23.

I don’t personally believe X-Men will be until after Secret Wars so if that’s the case then it really depends whether they want to go into the next saga or not yet.

Various "insiders" are certainly acting like a ton of stuff is getting announced.

We'll see.

I know a few who aren't, though their predictions usually align with some of what the "insiders" are saying.

The worst case is still a boost to DCA and Animal Kingdom over the next few years, which I can certainly live with.
I think there's some hesitance from insiders to plant a flag on definites because they know things can change quickly in either direction (included or excluded). But DCA and AK definitely need something soon.

Maybe Disney will prove me wrong, but they've never been one to look at a potential business slowdown and say they'll keep building capacity through it. The earnings call is going to be interesting.

The real insilders not talkking somewhat means they are scared of disney this time and losing media access a number of them have more recently gained back. Chapek canceled people with some sources who just gave up on working with him previously considering how petty he was.

Given recent years we should have had a much clearer picture where the expansion money is going by now even if those rumors an were dissaponting.

Closing the multiverse is almost guaranteed by the end of Secret Wars. A soft reboot is certainly possible, but to me I think the “soft reboot” they are likely to do is just to clean up the universe. Simplify it again. It would still be a continuation but it would be bringing the scale down from how insanely huge it’s gotten.

Just hire Deadpool to do more time traveling and clean things up. Heck, make that the ride. The name of the ride is "Deadpool: Timeline Sanitizer".

Apparently the “insiders” are saying that d23 parks livestream will only be given to Disney CM’s, and not publically like years past. Makes me kinda worried if true.

lol

If they don't stream it cool, I'll just watch stuff later. No idea why Disney doesn't stream everything to Disney Plus, its not like people won't buy tickets. The people going to this event want to be there and many people live no where near this..so no idea why Disney doesn't just make this content for Disney Plus which needs more anyway, it would be a win win

Then why even put out an annoucement making it sound like the park panel will be announced like it has been to a live audience of fans like it has in the past?! Fail.
