If you look at the concept art, check out the height of the ceilings. Unless that overhang is going to be totally destroyed I'm pretty sure they are going to repurpose interior sections. But then again thats concept art and nothing more.

So what will they expand the soundstage out further? The second room is clearly the current one repurposed. It's the same screens. But it's also clearly in a different room than the living room. They have to expand somewhere.

If you look I know in one concept picture there is a small screen over the entrance doors, and in the other one its a large screen with Gru, the girls and minions. This is one and the same room, look at the doors below it. It possible that they are changing where you go INTO the building, the side the other side where the queue line is.

So 2 pre-show rooms? Gru's Living Room and Gru's Lab? Where will they hold the queue?

My concern is with Despicable Me being such a new and hot franchise what is going to happen when the line overflows the indoor que (supposing they make the whole que indoor). There is very little room for overflow that I can think of short of the que literally going in the street and blocking the Citywalk Entrance...

They did a good job containing Neutron's queue, even when it would go up to 160 minute waits (did anyone ever see it more than this?) in its first few busy summers. I'm guessing if they're going indoors, then they're completing gutting the queue as we know it and including Gru's Living Room there before we enter Gru's Lab, the original Neutron/Hanna Barbera pre-show room.

Perhaps the "First room" will be where the old nick store was.. then "the second room" will be where the original preshow was. There was TONS of room in the nick post show to move the store as well as host the meet n greet. The walls have all been torn out from what we can see...

It could be possible that the first room is by the exit of the old gift shop, and that room leads us into the OLD preshow room, and then into the theater. Then they would make an exit that faces towards the stage and grassy area instead of on Production Central

As of this moment there were not walls blocking the wall that aces the stage... I would guess the production central wall is going to also house the exit since It probably has a minion store in there too... I could be wrong and walls appear later to construct that exit since shrek's store faces that side street.

So when Uni typically says "summer" as an opening date..what month would be a good prediction? I'm most likely going mid-June...will I be out of luck?

I don't think so. I'm guessing a July/August timeline.

Most theme parks and especially in Central FLA summer means Memorial Day through Labor Day...

Remember, both The Simpsons Ride and Wizarding World of Harry Potter were advertised as opening in the Spring, and they opened May 15th and June 18th, respectively. Unless Universal has changed their judgement of timeframes, I wouldn't expect Despicable Me to open much sooner than the end of June...

The concept art and test animation looks good. I don't think they'll get rid of the store to build the new pre show area, although I guess there's really nowhere else I can think of where they could be putting it.

This is where I feel proud to hold an AP. The concept art is great. I'd love to see it executed well in the final product. Oh man, I got chills once I finally got to sit down and read all of the announcements.
